Imagine o, how do boli and suya cause cancer nah? You warned us, yes, but never gave us the special properties in them or they acquire through the roasting or burning that exposes the consumer to colorectal or any other type of cancer at all. Nigerian scientists, especially those involved in human health should learn how to explain things out to the people.

This is how you go to a hospital and a doctor will write out and carry on a million tests and commence treatment without telling the patient what is wrong in clear lay man's language - a pure breach of medical ethics. More so, some will even give you drugs and tear off their labels so you won't go and purchase them cheaply from the pharmacist. Mtcheeewww

A very timely reminder. Some will argue that our ancestors ate these foods and did just fine. But they also daily ate fresh plant products and fruits packed with antioxidants and fibre that also prevent colorectal cancer.

No refined foods or sugars. Not to mention their higher physical activity and low obesity levels. No easily and cheaply available beer and other alcohol products .

These are gut (colo-rectal and liver) specialists discussing in their conference. Fumes will more likely cause asthma, lung cancer, etc. That is the remit of chest physicians & cardio-thoracic surgeons.

Elephant is largest land mammal,yet it doesn't eat. Meat is not exactly essential if you can supplement with variety of fruits and vegetables. Red meat kills,especially the one that is roasted in open smoky flame like suya.

What are steps taken to prevent tb and other cattle prone diseases in Nigeria? How are those cattle reared by nomads certified to be fit for human consumption?
