People need to learn to separate church doctrines from biblical truths.

Even Jesus christ never condemned it.

Where was it explictly stated that polygamy is sinful and amounts to hell.

She can't undo what she's done. Except there's more to her decision, she should remain with her family and sacrifice taking communion while she remains a Catholic. She can figure out what life time penance to do to be at peace with herself and her God. She'll probably see heaven before several of those who are the custodian and administrator of the communion.

If she was that religious, she would never have married as a second wife in the first place.
She found religion after many years in thr marriage. Meaning, people can change. You can marry an atheist today, who may believe believe in God tomorrow. You may also lose your faith tomorrow.... What happens to your marriage then?

It's a very simple issue, no need to sensationalize it. Second wife is not recognized in Christianity so she is free to go look for her own husband or remain single. The man can continue to take care of his children. She is single in God's eyes
