The Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria expresses deep regret at the desperate human right situation in the Rakhine State of Myanmar, which is very reminiscent of what happened in Rwanda in 1994 and in Bosnia Herzegovina in 1995.

The Federal Government condemns the horrendous human suffering caused by what is now confirmed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in his statement today, to be a “textbook example of ethnic cleansing” of the Rohingya people.

The Federal Government of Nigeria takes note of this statement, and calls upon the United Nations to invoke the principle of the “Responsibility to Protect” and intervene in Myanmar to stop the ongoing ethnic cleansing and create the conditions for the safe return and rehabilitation of the fleeing Rohingya people to their motherland.

The Government similarly calls on all members of the civilized world to condemn this heinous act and to demand for appropriate punishment to the perpetrators.

Fake news but I've noticed Nigerians, especially Muslims, talking about Myanmar. The reason is because of the Rohinga Muslims who the Myanmar govt has told to get out. The govt claimed they are not indigenous to the land.

I've watched Al-Jazeera and Press TV carry it in all their news hour. That's the world we live in today. A very shameless world torn out by organised religion. In Al-Jazeera's backyard, Christians in the middle east are treated like shit.

While the condemnation is good it is born out of hypocrisy not love or justice for the entire human race. Myanmar's govt released the same argument the Nigerian govt offered for shooting at Shia and IPOB members.

These Nigerians who see nothing wrong with killing IPOB members see something wrong with Myanmar's govt treatment of Rohinga Muslims. It is not out of love they are doing this but simply to protect their own. Humans! smh.

is Nigeria cursed?

Yes of course

Rohingya like the fulanis of nigeria came from Bangladesh, a Muslim country who refuse to stay with India after gaing independence because Hindus were in majority.

they should go back to their home land Bangladesh.

There aim going to Myanmar is to spread their violent religion like what the herdsmen in Nigeria are equally trying to do by acquiring grazing reserves in the south which they would convert to towns and villages of theirs in future.

The Fulanis should go back to fulta jalon in Senegal where they came from to stop all these killings.

thats why the FG is supporting them.

what a country so nigeria can be able to condemn human rights abuses, in other countries but we'll be doing the same in their own country, look at what the nigerian government is doing in the southeast and tell me if this country is together, a country where a particular ethnic group is untouchable, no matter what they do. injustice is the order under this illiterate President administration. Buhari is not fit to lead a village meeting meeting talkless of a heterogeneous nation.
