When everybody talks at the same time, nobody really listens.

Kanu claims all he seeks for is a referendum. This should ordinarily not be far-fetched in a democratic dispensation. But at the expense of a sovereign state, any sane person would not expect the sitting President (who swore by the holy book to protect the sovereignty of the state) to fold his arms and watch a faction of society operate a Secret Service Organization, or to allow a looming uprising brew unchecked, or to let things fall apart. "Not in my time!" That would be my exact stance if I were Mr. President.

Gen. Buhari claims his position demands that he maintains law and order, uphold the constitution of the sovereign state, and protect lives and property of the citizens within its borders. But which sane law in a civilized clime precludes a faction of society from seeking a peaceful referendum to chart their own course (as is the case of Brexit) especially after a traumatized past and denial of governance of its people? Which sane country serves such unfair justice as is the case of Kanu's bail conditions and outrightly uses brute force, attacking people organizing peaceful rallies, in the name of maintaining law and order? That would've been my question if I were Biafran.

But did Nnamdi Kanu flout the bail conditions on which he appended his signature?

Is Kanu aware that operating a government within a government is a treasonable felony?

Have his followers soon forgotten that even Gen Ojukwu who led several battalions, headed a region and even had access to the arsenal of the Nigerian army also led his people to darkness and cannibalism before absconding for personal safety and died a natural death?

If Kanu was unanimously nominated to become the president of Nigeria, would he by himself split the country in his right senses?
Are the supporters on his bandwagon aware that 'ChukwuAbiama' would not come down from heaven to fight for an unreasonable lot who decided to fight armoured tanks with stick and stones?

Afterall, we have not witnessed the second coming of Christ yet, even when the real Jews (who did not have to forge a DNA result) fought with Palestine, Gaza or Lebanon.

On the other hand, is Gen. Buhari aware that this is a democratic government?

Does the Nigerian army know that live bullets and ammunitions are not used to control peaceful protests in civilized countries?

Is Mr. President aware that it is totally insane to dance the python dance of war when nobody is drumming?

Is Mr. President aware that the clamour for restructuring can bring peace and lasting development to the regions?

Is the President aware that a summoning of Kanu (rather than berating him) to a meeting alongside the elders of Ndigbo would reduce tension and establish common grounds among the eastern folks and the government?

Does the President know that it is all shades of wrong to simply attack the people he swore to protect?
