As a person that have studied widely, I must confess that I am confused by the happenings in this country.

When Christ started his ministry, he challenged the status quo. He even committed "sacrilage" by chasing the traders out of the temple.

His greatest crime was that he disrupted the entitlement privileges of the Jewish elite.

He also adopted a non violent approach because he aimed to win minds and souls not earthly possessions. He was killed for this.

Not equating Nnamdi Manu to Christ in any way.

But look at it this way.

He identified a flaw in our nation. He energized his followers by making the salient flaws in our nation blatantly obvious to them. His choice of words may be very radical but at a point in time was necessary.
He was able to gain a lot of followers this way and the bad blood that was raised in the build up to 2014 gave him even more numbers. Yes you and I and every Nigerian who played the tribal game helped his cause. Every time we say GEJ favoured igbos, or that ethnic gang up against the SS we add followers to him. Having gained numbers, he still has one major flaw which GMB has helped him solve. Amongst the igbo elites and literati he had limited followership.

His subsequent incarceration and shoddy trial created enough momentum to make the igbos start perceiving themselves as second class citizens in Nigeria.

Even the python dance 2 has succeeded in radicalizing even more people.

My only grouse with NK is that he is yet to attract enough intelligentsia to tone down his rhetoric to his now expanded audience. He has already achieved his aim. GMB may even purchase nukes to kill everyone in current SE but he would never be able to kill off the agitation.

What could have been done differently? Just as no northern governors could arrest Arewa youths over quit notice, the SE governors are also hampered. The people at the for front are the almajiris and the barely literate (masses). Any attempt to forcefully deal with them must be carefully thought out.

With the wealth of resources available to the Federal Government, it would have been a simply matter to demystify NK with a simple live televised debate on Nigerias future. We would have been better off for it.

I have lived in different parts of this country to appreciate that everyone has something unique and useful to us. It is by using the strengths we have to counter our weaknesses that we progress. There are those that will read portions of this and eventually start ethnic wanking, you are as guilty of hate speech as NK.

My greatest fear is that the IPOB may discover a way to articulate their message that goes down well with the elites and literati. It would then be unstoppable. The soldiers you send could ebb become indoctrinated against the FG. If I were IPOB I would keep sending unarmed protesters to Aba. Let the blood letting continue. I would not relent. However I would also make sure to document all the killings and make sure the entire world knows about it. I would also make sure that my members do not become violent.

At the end of the day even the most hardened criminals will question their lives.

If I were FG, the python dance would never have happened. What I would have done in the first place was to have eliminated him the very first time and claim robbery incidence instead of arrest. I would have committed resources claiming to be looking for his killers and robbers or simply to ignore him.

But that can't be done now. What can however be done is to engage him. Let him talk. Free him of all charges and then make him very public. Trust me he will soon shoot himself in the foot with his rhetoric. I dare say Ngige was set to become anambra state governor instead of Obiano until he tried defending fashola's deportation saga.

Yes I am Ibo. I support the right to self determination. I believe that I can't hold back any of my kids from achieving his dreams and heights just so my other kids don't feel intimidated. I am not IPOB. But I see it as an opportunity to make a better country.
