Wike played politics with the economy of his own state.

As his own supporters say, wicked Wike.

Motunrayo,

In summary:

1. Rivers APC asked Wike to apologise to his predecessor, some guy called Rotimi Amaechi

2. Reason given for the request is that Wike, as a Minister under Jonathan's administration, supported Jonathan when he (Jonathan) ceded oil wells belonging to Rivers State (Wike's home State) to Bayelsa State (Jonathan's home State), just to starve Amaechi of funds (as Governor of Rivers State)

3. That 2 days ago (19th of September, 2017), in a plea to the Surveyor-General of the Federation, Wike (now Governor of the same Rivers State) publicly confessed that Jonathan's decision to cede the Oil wells to Bayelsa some 3 years ago was wrong and should be reversed

4. That Wike's public admission and confession has ostensibly vindicated Amaechi. Therefore, he (Wike) must apologise, first to God, then to Amaechi, and indeed the entire Rivers State people (home and abroad) for cutting his nose to spite his face.

5. Finally, the write-up concluded by saying even though Wike is a hypocrite, who would rather trade the commonwealth of his own people, all in the name of politics, Rivers APC also join in appealing to the Surveyor General of the Federation to reverse the ceding of the oil wells.

Anything else?

Soku is known to be prolific oil producing area hence the fight, but something the APC chieftain said rubbed me the wrong way he said and I quote "One of the ways in which they achieve this infamous feat was to cede our oil wells in a bid to economically emasculate Rivers State and starve Amaechi of funds,” Rivers APC said in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya." Do the funds belong to Amaechi? I don't get the way these people reason sometimes.

Soku is in Kalabari and is less than 30mins boat ride from Abonema, so I just don't see how it is in Bayelsa State in the first place.

When they said Amechi, they meant Amechi led administration. Nigerians are fond of shortening sentences to words.

The irony is Wike fought against Amaechis government when he was fighting for this oil wells.

Karma and Hypocrisy at their finest
