The Northern party leaders have called any person going against the party's zoning principle an object of ridicule given to the party.
This was disclosed in a meeting on Tuesday where Leaders and elders of the Peoples Democratic Party from the 19 northern states met in Abuja to condemn the presidential ambition of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State.
The statement read thus " while welcoming delegates from the three geopolitical zones in the North to the meeting Gana said there was a need to elect the best candidates in accordance with the zoning formula of the party.

As long as Buhari has not expressly state that he would not contest in 2019, most Northern politicians will still be playing the hide and seek game like they did with GEJ.

There is no law or constitution stopping Fayose from contesting any elections ,zoning is a mundane human condition which is not working but have further polarized the citizenry.
