member of the Federal House of Representatives, Johnson Agbonayinma, has said there is nothing bad in President Muhammadu Buhari occupying the position of Petroleum Minister. This comes amid strong criticism of the President for maintaining the position, owing largely to the alleged rot in his ministry and the feud between his Minister of State, Dr Ibe Kachikwu and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr Maikanti Baru. The lawmaker said during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, that what people should place more emphasis on the performance of the ministry. “I don’t see anything wrong as the Minister of Petroleum, also as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The cause of disagreement here is that somebody is toying, playing with Nigerians’ money,” he said. “And they have failed to understand that this country belongs to all of us, not to one individual, not to Mr. President, not to the Senate President or Speaker. All of us collectively; we are part of this nation and I am pained to see what has happened to this country’s wealth.” Mr. Agbonayinwa, who represents Egor/Ikpoba-okha Federal Constituency of Edo state in the House of Representatives, regretted that agitations in the country are largely due to corruption and solicited support for the fight against it. He said, “The fight against corruption is something that every patriotic Nigeria should try as much as possible to support Mr. President on this special time and day. Therefore, you have a lot of bigotry, agitation because if you fight corruption, corruption fights back at you. “There is nothing wrong for Mr President being the Minister and being the President, that is not the problem. The problem is where is our money, Nigeria’s resources, gone to global destinations through dubious means.” https://www.channelstv.com/2017/10/16/theres-nothing-wrong-with-buhari-being-petroleum-minister-rep/ |

[/b]"There is nothing wrong for Mr President being the Minister and being the President, that is not the problem. On what section of the constitution did he base his assertion? His opinion is irrelevant in the face of the law. This is clearly one of those 'lawmakers' occupying space on the floor of the house and contributing nothing to the development of our democracy. |

That House of Reps member is an absolute idiot. Money is developing wings and he doesn't know d ministry needs to be manned efficiently to tackle such issues. Can he summon Buhari as minister to explain anything about what is going on there? |
