Embattled Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has described President Muhammadu Buhari is a good man, surrounded by cankerworms.

Melaye said this on Tuesday while discussing the reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the presidential task force team on pension reforms at plenary.

Recall, Maina was dismissed in 2013 by the Federal Civil Service Commission following a recommendation by the Office of the Head of Service.

He was accused of massive pension fraud scheme amounting to more than N100 billion.

Maina sued the Senate, after the upper chamber issued an arrest warrant against him.

Maina was dismissed by the Head of Service for allegedly absconding from duty and attempting to evade arrest and charged to court.

Reports recently emerged that Maina has returned to the country, now works with the government and has been promoted.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered his immediate disengagement from office and also queried the Head of Service over his reinstatement.



The EFCC stormed a mansion in Abuja belonging to Maina, who is till on its wanted list.

Winifred, Oyo-Ita, head of service also denied any complicity in the reinstatement of Maina.

Now, Dino has said the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and Interior Minister, Abdulrahman Dambazau have continued to abuse their office.

He said;

“It is pathetic. I want to ask this question to the executive; should we continue in sin and ask grace to abound? Time after time, the AGF and minister of justice has abuse dthis office. We are not talking about Maina,” 

“We should talk about the integrity of the AGF and minister of justice. If the law officer has his hands stained then the entire nation is one a stained.

“Mr President is a good man and he means well but he is surrounded by cankerworms and caterpillars. We should have the audacity to take strong decisions.

Nigerians would understand why the office of AGF and minister of justice is separated. We must recommend to the president that the AGF has displayed gross incompetence for the office it is occupying.”

I can go on and on with points but lets tell ourselves the truth this idea of trying to absolve Buhari of all wrong all his life is what has brought us to this point , Buhari has never been the good Mr integrity he has wrongly been sold as all these years and we thank God today his cover has been blown for all to see

Melaye still get case with his INEC recall process,so he is just trying to court Buhari, one way or another.

But who appointed the cankerworms, who hired them? How is it that he could only see cankerworms to appoint.
My point is this : A good man will not be attracted to cankerworms neither will he associate with them. If unknowingly he befriends them, he will discard them as soon as he discovers their true nature. But a man who continues to be a friend to cankerworms is himself a cankerworm.
