How?
Who will sustain its viability the way Germany sustains the Euro. Is it Nigeria, Ghana or other similar shitty states.
You can't even sustain the naira , you want to add the ECOWAS to it.
Suicide.
I believe that with nigeria being the biggest and strongest economy in west africa, the new currency will be mostly influenced by her. it will present the ECOWAS community with a strong voice in international buisness, rather than being an under dog.

When will Africa make a general currency like Europe? It's really affecting doing business with other Africans

Single currency with divergent socio- economic n ethno-cultural backgrounds n policies among ECOWAS member States is nt feasible.

This whole idea of a single currency "eco" zone for the ECOWAS/CEDEAO region has been in the works since the 1970s and has never reached implementation stage. The Europeans came up with their own Euro plans in the 80's and the currency has since been in use for almost two decades.

The ECOWAS economies remain too disjointed and the governments rather unreliable for one to expect much success in this project.

African countries wey never chop dey talk of single currency instead of tackling the basic issues that have plagued the continent and made it the most backward in every developmental indices. Imagine naija wey no get common light dey talk single currency. who single currency epp?

What has having light got to do with single currency? So developing countries should not devise economic policies or strategies to improve trade and incomes? When they say you people should go to school, you will refuse.

AFRICA - TALK, TALK, TALK, TALK, TALK, TALK, TALK, TAlK, TALK and MORE TALK and even MORE TALK.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SEE ACTION? THEY HAVE BEEN TALKING SINGLE CURRENCY FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS AT LEAST!

It was the same with Europe dude. They started TALKING about a single currency in the 1950s after WW2, and the Euro only came into being around the year 2000. It is not easy or straightforward to create such a thing. It takes decades of negotiations and economic re-alignment in member countries. If you rush it, that's a recipe for failure!!
