The UN is deploy a force there.

Blame the regional block and AU for the mess.

MikeZA: I can smell, hear, feel and see this trap. shocked shocked

One word: Classified.

Nope, nothing classified in old version Type 209 submarine that many country's already use for decades.

Is your Submarine radar for air scan of enemy aircraft as @Andrewza claims or sea scan as you people now claim for anti-piracy operations?

Also tell us the range of your OPV-Submarine radar and sonar that will be used to chase pirates from Southern hemisphere to Northern hemisphere in Gulf Of Guinea across ocean expanse measuring over 5 million square kilometers grin grin

Don't be afraid to answer, you people said your Submarine is better than our OPV for anti-piracy, so let's compare....answer my questions

You wrote that South Africa is going to WAR....a war that has no name and location. It's actually you that does over-active imagination grin

Can't you read you dumb*ss? I was quoting the title of the Article.

That link said "About 1 500 South African soldiers are preparing for combat against some of Africa’s most deadliest Islamic militants, as part of the African Union’s (AU) African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crisis Force (ACIRC)."

Which means they are going to war with Africa's most deadliest Islamic Militants, regardless of where they are.

LEARN TO READ

When the U.S. Said that they were launching 'A War on terror' they didn't specify the name or location.

Across lake Chad inside Chadian territory....their job, many Boko Haram fighters came from Chad, and those particular Bokos have a base inside Chad living happily there, reason why they quickly crossed into Chad to go home....the Chadians merely cleaned up their own mess grin

You should post the facts to prove your claim of "every regional force will have it's leadership".

Uganda is South Africa's next war teacher grin

SANDF will forever be a crowd follower
.
Again running away from your initial claims.

East Africa will have its own force.(Kenya,Rwanda,Uganda etc)

Ugandans are actually one of our biggest allies, they even trained MK soldiers.

It was them last year who gave the SANDF a base to operate. They're also "regulars" in SA.

MikeZA: Layered air defence.

The twin barrels guns will down it.

How's an APC,Tanks etc going see an incoming paveway bomb?

You wanna get your n...ts smashed again, when it comes to CRAM?

South Africa has no CRAM capability until year 2020.

No army drives armour around without air defense, Roland has radar on ground with 18km detection range, Gripen cannot launch guided bomb without being seen by Roland because your guided bomb range is only 15km.

Your air force is detected by our army before it launches anything.

NAF will also challenge SAAF in the air, so what bullshiit are you writing ?

MikeZA: That's because we have proper operational planning.

We don't just throw numbers to overwhelm the foe, which mostly results in heavy casualties like Nigeria in Liberia and now NE.

Fact is that SANDF has NO capacity to deploy more than 4,000 soldiers at any time, according to your war history in the last 60 years grin grin

A battalion,Oryx and Rooivalk helicopters,Gripens,C-130s and support elements from signallers to medics were already deployed.

They chickened out of it. That isn't our problem.

In mission in CAR can't be described as a "war".

SA version is different and parked with highly advanced systems.

Just know they have radar and radar warning systems. And stayed 5 days under water when heading to Brazil, cause of storms.

MikeZA: Diesel submarines are DEADLY!!!!

The submarine can go to the operational area to hunt, attack and conduct surveillance.

Pulling out to recharge its batteries after a long time somewhere. Come back to attack again!!!!!!!

Detecting a periscope is difficult, unless the when the ocean is calm.

With rough conditions like such as the waters around SA,waves make it extremely difficult.

What are going to focus on?

Hunt an elusive sub? Or try attack surface vessels?

After every 48 hours your Submarine must surface-snorkel for many hours to recharge battery or else it will sink. That is the great weakness of all diesel submarines.

Those many hours of surface battery recharging is what gets submarines into disaster.

ATR-42 of Nigeria has ultra-Sophisticated equipment for detecting very tiny objects on water no mater the weather or rough sea even in a very heavy clutter environment. It has radar, FLIR, and TV spy camera.

Your snorkeling submarine runs on diesel and releases heavy heat and smoke from it's diesel engine exhaust pipe into the open air for many hours.....Invitation to death by NAF !

How many days did the SA sub stay under water when heading to Brazil?

The submarine doesn't release any "heavy heat and smoke".

Like I said: They get into the operational area hunt alone or helped by other military elements, attack and conduct surveillance.

When done they pull out to recharge.

ARA San Luis did it. Getting as close as 5km of British vessels!!!!!!!

Anyway, it is military today website and I will post photo screenshot of the webpage.

Mi-35M Hind E payload is 2,400 kg and it beats the Rooivalk hands down tongue tongue

Can we continue to types of weapons options available ? It will be another sweet victory for NAF Mi-35 Hinds beating SAAF Rooivalks tongue tongue

Irony is that of all sub-saharan countries

South Africa has fought the most and the biggest conventional wars

Nope....

Nigeria Vs Biafra = 500,000 soldiers

Ethiopia Vs Eritrea = 450,000 soldiers

South African army used only 4,000 men against Cuba, the rest were 130,000 MPLA Angolan soldiers saving you from 50,000 Cubans grin grin

SADF-SANDF always needs to be led and saved by other nations' armies, last time you tried war alone against Seleka, you ran away grin grin
