Long endurance vessels yet you cannot even secure your own waters?

Long endurance vessels that have no conventional warfighing capabilities?

Second hand, obsolete vessels that even the USCG turned their noses up to

US ship that sailed in service till 2014 is not obsolete, Americans don't deploy obsolete ships overseas, American upgrades equipment very regularly, more than any other country in this world.

NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana have sea voyage range and radar range beyond the wildest dreams of SAN Valour frigates.

Nigerian waters are secure, we even save Ghana and Angola.

Piracy is a crime, you cannot stop crime, you only control and limit it.

Why has South Africa not eliminated Rhino poachers with your special rangers, special forces, army, and air force, plus invited American commandos that fought poachers in South Africa.

Why did Zuma run to hide 500 Rhinos in Botswana? South Africa is NOT safe.....even with your Gripen jet flying recce missions cheesy cheesy

the deal is off, update your shallow brain.. fcmb, access and first bank of Nigeria are going to finance it and they've started already... dummy, SA banks, which one do you or your ancestors own? lol

Weren't you the one claiming "modern" here?

Your navy would perish, if they faced SAN. what would a Hamilton class vessel do? SAN OPV(s) can sink them easily.

NN and SAN are both $2 Billion asset naval forces with modern assets, but built to defeat different threats.

Nigeria has piracy threat that cannot be defeated by missile frigates and submarines, so we bought what we need.

South Africa has very little piracy threat because there is no oil and gas business in your poor oceans, all you have is fish, cheap fish of little value.

As long as South African navy is afraid to enter Nigerias 22km maritime law territorial waters for fear of our coastal artillery power, we are safe.

Meeting in neutral high sea, you have an edge today, but you will lose that edge when Aradu is refitted and the Chinese combat ship is transferred to us, maybe in 3 months time.

Today, South African navy has no high speed sea interceptor vesels like Nigerian navy Shaldags, SAN cannot challenge a fleeing pirate once it is 10km ahead of your Valour frigates, best you can do is to bl.ow up a civilain speed boat because your navy has no high speed vessel to catch up.

NN and SAN today have different purposes they are built to serve. None of us has a balanced navy yet

VW to Start Assembling Cars in Nigeria with Stallion Group
ThisDay, Thursday 11 December 2014
Volkswagen AG (VW) plans to start assembling cars in Nigeria as early as next year with Stallion Group, according to people
familiar with the matter.
According to Bloomberg, the world’s second-largest automaker approved the project for small-scale final assembly because of
tax rules that encourage local manufacturing, said sources, who asked not to be named before an official announcement.
A spokesman for VW declined to comment. Stallion Group didn’t respond to messages seeking comment.
An assembly in Nigeria would mark Wolfsburg, Germany-based Volkswagen’s second return to Nigeria.
In the 1970s, the company set up a multi-billion naira assembly plant, Volkswagen of Nigeria Limited (VON), in Ojo, Lagos State,
along with the federal government as equity partner.
It later pulled out when new car sales fell and Nigerian consumers turned to cheaper second-hand cars from Europe and the US
in the 1990s, leaving the assembly plant moribund for years until the federal government sold its shares to Stallion Group under
the privatisation programme a few years ago.

Since the plant’s acquisition, Stallion has focused on assembling buses and trucks from the VON facility.
VW’s other African manufacturing facilities comprise a car factory in Uitenhage, outside Port Elizabeth, where it produces the
Polo small car, while the MAN commercial-vehicle unit has production locations in Olifantsfontain, near Johannesburg, and
Pinetown, outside Durban. VW operates 107 factories globally.
Closely held Stallion has inaugurated a vehicle-assembly plant in Lagos and acts as distributor in the country for carmakers
including VW, Nissan Motor Co., Hyundai Motor Co. and Porsche.

first, Nigerian Navy is not a $2 Billion navy

Second, Your coastal artillery is zero threat as I have proven many times

Third, range of our SSM's are over 20 km

Fourth, you are getting no mythical "chinese warship"

Fifth, Warrior class is capable of 34knts, Super Lynx is capable of 324 km/h

Nigeria is no where near us and the old man aradu will not change that equation

That 300 million dollar Dangote has invested is no where to be seen. It is said that he has major shares in some small cement company which so far I have never seen their packet of cement.

South Africa's burning desire for OPVs and IPVs proves you woke to realize that Nigerian navy was smart to build a powerful patrol force and you dream of copying us now....but you cannot, you invested your money into missile frigates and submarines which have not added any value to your economy or serve any purpose except photography for @THIZA cheesy cheesy

Shaldag speeds up to 50 knts I suppose. Show me proof of your old rust bucket Warrior class boat.

You don't know what pirate interception is, no South African navy boat can catch a pirate once they are 10km ahead of you, Lynx helicopter will fly above the pirate but you cannot stop them unless you fire torpedoe on a civilian vessel cheesy

To intercept high speed pirates you need to catch up side by side, overtake and make it impossible for him to keep sailing .

The Europeans and Israelis that build high speed sea interceptors are not fools, they have more helicopters and OPV than South Africa.

Different equipment are built for different challenges.

South Africa does NOT have a balanced navy, deal with it !

America does not deploy obsolete equipment overseas.

We don't need to drag this thread back, I posted full upgrade and regular modernization of the ships here few few months ago, I won't repeat it.

All American ships in that Hamilton class were stripped of missiles and CIWS many years ago during active service and America used them like that for many years without missiles

I did my math before I said both are $2 Billion navies.

12 Shaldag, OCEA and Eagle crafts alone cost $100 million.

2 stealth OPVs alone cost about $250 million

2 Endurance cutters Value is about $400 million

We have over 300 new patrol boats various sizes, all brand new.

4 Valour frigates and 3 Heroine submarines cost about $300 million each.

Nigerians think before they talk. Reason why the white man fears us more than they fear you South Africans
