SA to return $15 million confiscated botched arms deal money to the newly elected government of Nigeria because of their special relationship to Buhari.

Let's hope Dokubos threat to go back to the creeks doesn't materialise, that will spell total destruction of Nigeria.

I wonder what were the weapons that were supposed to be
bought in SA during the 11million dollar saga meant for, we know Dokubo was one of the people said to be present in the jet detained in SA.

Were they preparing for a Buhari presidency.

Anyway, let's hope things don't turn ugly.

Niger Delta Militant Leader Ateke, Has A Massage For Buhari

Ex-militant and leader of the Niger Delta Vigilante (NDV), Ateke Tom, has said former militant leaders in the Niger Delta region are ready to work with the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Ateke, who disclosed this while speaking in pidgin english to newsmen at Okochiri in Rivers State, urged Gen. Buhari to invite leaders of genuine militant camps to discuss on how to move the region forward.

In his words, “I am here to congratulate Buhari for his victory. We will want good leadership; we thank God that Buhari is now our President and we pray God Almighty to give him wisdom to rule our country. Since Buhari is now our President, we want him to meet with the core leaders of the Niger Delta struggle; I mean the real leaders in the struggle.

“He should call the real leaders and talk to them. Let us discuss on our needs. He should also not forget the Amnesty Programme, because we know what we fought for and that was why they gave us Amnesty. We did not get the Amnesty Programme from the backyard. So, let him keep to the programme. Let the Amnesty Programme function well and we will like it. We are ready to work with Buhari.”

The former militant leader said none of the former agitators in the region will go back to the creeks.

Ateke said, “Some people are saying they want to go back to the creek, or they want to blow up pipelines; no, I, Ateke Tom will not be part of that, we don’t need all those things and nobody will go back to the creeks. I have a say in the Niger Delta and I am one of the top fighters; so nobody will go back to the creeks. I advice the youths not to follow anybody back to the creeks.

“We should not say because there is change of government and Buhari is now the President, and somebody wants to go back to the creeks; what are you going there to do? So, let nobody follow anybody to the creeks. What we want is that let Buhari meet us and treat us well.”

Who in their right mind would even dare compare ZA to Nigeria in Governance terms shocked shocked.Nigeria has ALOT of catching up to do in that regard. but then again as highly ranked as ZA it is faced by troubles(just like any other society) but those troubles by no means mean that they are badly(badly in a wider African context and the index proves so) managed as people might lead themselves to believe on this thread. The ANC government isint perfect but it is getting the job done and South Africans being as vocal as they are they will NOT settle for less from their government and they will continuously complain and object to ANY drop in standards and that has given an impression that ZA 'is' or 'belongs' at the bottom of the list.

It is a fact that SA has the best defence industry in Africa. If you don't know that look at Sipri to see which African country is in the top 20 arms exporter.

Defence industry is manufacturing, not exporting. You are talking about overseas sales instead of industrial production.

The biggest and best defence industry in Africa is Egypt, but their military is so big and powerful with millions of soldiers, that they absorb all their defence manufacturing into their armed forces and nothing left for export.

Egypt has manufactured about 1,000 main battle tanks, but South Africa has NEVER manufactured even 1 piece.

Egypt manufactured jet fighter engines but South Africa does not.

Egypt has manufactured over 10,000 guided missiles but South Africa is still 10 times far behind in numbers produced.

Egypt manufactures modern long range ballistic missiles designed locally at home and built at home, South Africa does not have any functioning ballistic missile in it's arsenal and has NOT produced a modern ICBM in history.

The best and biggest defence industry in Africa is that of Egypt, but they don't go on internet and boast like the empty barrel called South Africa

FACT !!

What all these ratings show is how much potential Naija has, if we're already so strong despite the poor governance and infrastructure problems, no one will touch Naija when both of those are rectified.

It is only agaugust in his right mind in Africa who would not accept that SA has the best and most advanced defence industry in Africa. Egypt is not even an industrial country per set, it is still in the process of industrialising their country.

Arms experts declared SA as the most advanced defence industry in the global South and Africa.

True about that..Nigeria with its huge population has a lot of potential no denying that. But 'change' always meets resistance and overhauling will be no easy task.People benefiting from the loopholes of the system wont easily give up

SA produced ICBM with the help of Israel even before Egypt started thinking about them.

SA is undoubtedly most developed arms manufacturers in Africa, and Egypt does not even come any closer nor Nigeria. We have over hundred Defence industries, Monkey; and Egypt does not even have over five defence industries.

I know this forum, somebody will probably reply with an even more gruesome video from naija, and the thread will turn into a shithole.

EVarn:
Training and experience walk hand in hand, but on a scale of preference, experience beats training.
There are heavily trained field soldiers who freeze when they see battle.Battle simulations are quite different from real life combat,on the practice ground, the biggest fatality you can sustain is a nose bleed, broken bone, wounded pride and serious tongue lashing from your disgruntled superior.but is real combat, failure means death. That is why many soldiers, even though they've got training, tend to loose nerve in the middle of real action.Trainers can only teach the troops and hope for the best.
But experience is a rare attribute needed for a formidable armed force.Even without preliminary training, once you've got the experience, you've got the training needed.

I saw Max 60 troops and 6apc, the base as u could see was clean and proffesional, don't know why you are saying its defended poorly

Your FOB has 850 troops.
Your FOB is poorly secured and only has 6 APC's.
The Nigerian base in Sudan is 10 times better protected, I posted images.

Plus the Nigerian military in Sudan also has Super-puma and MI-17 Helicopters.

I'm saying it is poorly guarded because it is, I also stated my reasons.

A country that manufactures APC's can't afford to equip it's troops in the CAR and Sudan. That's pathetic.
