I totally do not disagree with him if there are expedient projects to be executed, but since our people just want to chop, it is not a waste if that is the motive, saving it for a reasonable aspirant in the future won't be a bad idea.

What are you saving for?
If you cannot explain the thing you are saving for , You shouldn't be entrusted with such a position
Government finances is not the same as the finances of an individual.
It is not only myopic but also an expression of cluelessness.
Why and What are you saving for in the future when your roads today are jagajaga ,
Environment battered by erosion
Education is under funded
Healthcare is nonexistent

Should the people who are going to live in that future die today .
A good administrator would ensure that the society is healthy enough to take care of the future when that future arrives .
This is done through investments in social( education, health and physical infrastructure( water , sewers , roads ,housing etc ) .
Not by putting money under the mattress.
Nigeria needed electricity under obasanjo . He built a few power station but did not give it the required attention .he went about saving money under the mattress ( Rainy day fund they called it ) only for Jonathan and his goons to come and squander and steal. It took mr clueless less than 6 months to squander/steal the excess crude account of $22 billion

He's very correct, why save when the state and people are not self sufficient? Saving for who?

Dont mind ignorant Nigerians with low IQ with affinity for voting bad leaders. A state government in a country that the people live on less that $1 a day should be saving for generations unborn? what nonsense

Most of you are just making noise about this savings , you want him to go and borrow with high interest rate, whereas we have money.
Besides. Fg is still owing us 45billion naira. We are doing everything to get them back

Nobody has ever argued that Peter did not save during the oil boom. But at this point we have recession. What to you want the Governor to do? Watch people starve and save for future? Let's be realistic biko. If fg government pay us our money back we would rebalanced.

Yoruba people and spend drifts

No matter how poor you are, you still have to save for the raining day.

Anambra state can decide to save in dollars in foreign banks and obtain more dollars from those savings in those countries.

If Peter Obi has not saved, Anambra state won't have survived recession like IDP Osun.
