Igbos should note that Yorubas remains the only tribe who did not touch their property after the civil war. Everything was intact yet they have display ungrateful attitude towards those who were kind to them.
You didnt touch our property but Awolowo took our money. The whole money that Igbos had in their bank account before the war what did Awolowo do with it? Oh He gave you free education? Be grateful to you for stabing me at the back and saying sorry at my front

Lagos is Yoruba Land. Port Harcourt (Igwe Ocha) is Igbo Land.

I read the news on what Obiano said and I was shocked. The idiot just started up what we hate OUK for, blabbing rubbish while stirring up controversy. Was it that he was drunk when he said that or he just wanted to tend? Haven't read any statement from him concerning Ekwueme who just passed on.

It made me wonder, upon all our achievements, why can't we replicate the same? Why can't we change the status of Onitsha and Aba, making it become an advanced market?

Even if you dominate somewhere, why not do it silently and let your works speak for you?

I'm sorry to say but dude goofed big time on this, even pitching sone ethnic groups against Igbos. It's a sad situation.

Most annoying is that some persons are beginning to open up topics on it and bragging about it.

Please, drum it in their ears let them learn...

Those folks in the east are really something else. Why are u claiming everywhere? If you ask them to sit down and plan for the homeland, they will run to Lagos.

Igbo's love already made food, they hardly start anything these days. This generation of Igbo's talk too much and do so little.

How much did you had in the Bank?

When you were relocating to a fraud of the country you formed, did you not withdrawal your money?

How many of you had money in the bank then, if Nigeria is still under banked as at 2017 with 67% having bank account?

who paid Nigeria back for the Central Bank branches in Enugu PH Calabar and Benin that your fathers looted?

Did you deserve to be paid anything at all despite not.working for the money you were paid for 3years, you killed the leaders of other regions, you looted CBN and you hijacked properties of other ethnicities in Igboland?

Paying £20 to each of your miserable individual was the highest level of magnanimity, and you guys should have been left to keep wallowing in your abject poverty that befell you.

Bunch of ingrates.

The fact that well known Igbo-hating bigots are agreeing with your post is very telling. It’s not in our culture to ‘air our dirty laundry’ in public. There are other channels that you could use to spread this message, not on this Igbo hate-filled site.

Amarabae we are not known for something like this. Look at how you have generalised Igbos (as if we are salivating over Lagos) just because of few rants on nairaland. How many Igbos have you met offline laying claim to Lagos or its development ? what is the difference between what El rufai said about Igbos owning 70% of landed properties in Abuja and Obiano's assertion of which you know his main point is geared towards Igbos bringing their investment home. This is not something to make a thread for or maybe i'd say its a hate for Obiano taken further.

She's not very bright.
Re: Igbos And The Lagos Controversy. by Alexus23: 9:34am On Nov 30, 2017
Obiano was quoted out of context. His position is on the need for Igbos to repatriate their investment home. I think if Igbos heed to his call, the long aspiration of the Yorubas will be achieved, Igbos leaving the S'West in drove.
The reality is, since most tribes/groups, detest the Igbos, we should strategically start investing back home. Vacate Lagos, leave Kano, and even Kaduna, move back East, if at all you want to venture outside the East, Asaba is still an Igbo enclave, PH is there, Just leave those region that keeps reminding you of your status as a stranger in the same so called one Nigeria.

It is unfortunate that liberalism, tolerance and peaceful co-existence are today in retreat in Nigeria so much so that an indigene of Imo State born and raised in Aba, for instance, cannot be employed even as a messenger in the Abia State public service. Governor Theodore Orji has since adopted a scorched earth policy against non-indigenes in Abia State, treating them as “undesirable foreigners”. Yet, anytime this Quixotic and queer governor speaks in public about “the imperative of Igbo unity” some people clap for him! https://iheanyiigboko./tag/ngozi-nwosu/
Okay, o! sad Some of the SE people claiming Lagos as their own land, cannot even claim a nearby SE city as their own, without being reminded that they are foreigners. Maybe that is why they have decided to cross River Niger and several kilometres of roads, in order to claim Lagos. Who knows??

Obiano goofed big time and its both disgraceful and embarrassing to hear such nonsense from a well travelled man who is equally a ffuccking governor. That statement will stand to judge him ,soonest.

Firstly, Igbo didn't develop Lagos, its very sttupid to utter such crap. Lagos was in a very strategic position when the Europeans arrived and they used it as seat of government and Lagos grew from there and blossomed. Nigerians from all ethnic group moved there, worked hard and paid their taxes which were used to build the place up.

Finally, Lagos is a Yoruba land and will continue to be and Yorubas will continue to be favored because that's how it works around the world. Some ignorant and rretarded Igbos does not speak for the Igbo nation.

But respect is reciprocal, I will still beat Yoruba people down if they insult the Igbo nation.

This sad and destructive traits are not limited to just obiano because bragging, beating empty and shallow chest, loud, flawed, ignorant and undiplomatic claims are part of the igbo DNA structure.

The average igbo in his or her mind is better than the rest of Nigeria and the world in general even though this is not the case because the rest of Nigeria and the world can see the sad and horrible situation in the SE and the breath of their grossly incompetent, non productive and vision less leaders at the local and national level since and before independence.

This is a society that's very unproductive economically hence the need for their young and old generations after generations to leave that region for survival and daily bread in other parts of the country, but they still want the world to accept them as the richest, smartest, most developed and the most industrious region in Nigeria even though the economic realities in the region says it's the other way around since financial receipts, IGR and state budgets in the region are the lowest in Nigeria so claiming what doesn't exist or can be supported with credible facts and data equals delusion and self denial.

Lastly, when you have nothing significant to show from your own home or to be proud of, you needlessly claim or attache yourself to other people's land and property.

Question:: Where is the sense and wisdom in claiming what doesn't belong to you and boasting that you develop other proplr's land while yours rot and stagnate away? This is lunacy.

If their own Oba can be bold enough to tell dem that Lagos is not Yoruba land, then wat are u criticising Obiano over.

Obiano is Anambra state gov, his focus is on Anambra state indigence.

It is a well known fact and open secret that Lagos was developed by the people of the East with our human and capital resources.

Further, Ndiigbo are not known to pretend but to openly speak their mind and the truth regardless of whose ox is gored.

Amarabae:
While the Nigeria media space was celebrating Anambra peaceful election and mourning a great elderstateman Dr Alex Ekwueme, A controversial oral bombshell exploded from the mouth of the newly re-elected governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano.
I was vividly disappointed by the obiano remark that Anambraians built Lagos, its undiplomatic, inflammatory, and divisive.
Issues like this can set us up against our hosts.
The Question of who developed Lagos can be examined down briefly below.
Lagos a Yoruba state started seeing some developement right from the days of the colonial era,
Its development rose when it served as the capital of Nigeria, the Federal Government pumped a lot of money in some infrastructure in the state,
After she lost her capital status to Abuja, the modern Lagos continued to grow and it is the melting point of all ethnic groups in Nigeria who are in the state.
Taxes generated from industries, factories, business centers etc is the source of IGR of the state.
Bragging about Igbos developing Lagos makes us look stupid before the world for some reasons.
Its time we Ndigbo show the world our own Lagos instead of salivating on another person property.

Aba or Onitsha are two Igbo cities that we can develop like Lagos if we have visionary leaders.

So why the controversy?
Careless remarks like that of Obiano arm our host against us,
Lack of diplomacy should not be a weak point to us,
That statement by obiano portray us as Land grabbers which in reality we are not.
I am not ashamed to say it that despite awolowo £20pounds saga, Lagos provided the platform by which some Igbos regained themselves economically after the war,
So why the unnecessary provoking?

Igbos should think home now for investment, there is no pride in bragging about developing another man's land and leaving your own to rot.
Enough of this controversy,Lagos is a Yoruba state and remains so.
We can build our Igbo cities and towns to international standard and stop this unnecessary "Lagos and no man's land" jibe.
Thank you.
