i doubt it.cos i tried using 1.8m dish to track nilesat too at ibadan the next day i finished that of lagos but i was barely able to get just one frequency which is 11862 V 27500 (osn channels)

Pls. i want you to tell me how to track Nilesat with my 3m fiber dish in New-Bussa, Niger state. I need the tracking freq, referenc point. Can i use a Strong Ku lnb and how many stations will i get.

nilesat is a very tricky bird to track escpecially down south west here, but i think oga george d should b able to help out with this numerous questions. oga george over 2 u.

sorry, i'm just seeing your post for the first time. to answer your question, yes that lnb should work well on fibre dish.

and no, there is no 'best db' for an lnb. different manufacturers have different specs for their products. generally however, the lower the db the better. for example if you have a ku lnb with a db of 0.1 and another with 0.5, the former is expected to be sharper than the later. but recently the chinese have been exploiting this knowledge by stamping lower dbs indiscriminately on inferior lnbs which don't perform up to their nameplate. so, i would say stick to known brands and for now fuji (original) seems to be the best for fibre dishes.

@oga george,pls.which method is best to use among these two methods:refoiling the dish while the dish is still hanging on the pole,the way i did my 2.4m 2weeks ago or bringing the dish down before refoiling as you did in the pics.

i used meyer paint. the type in the 4 litre can used for painting houses. the foil paper can be got at any major superstore. it is also used by caterers to wrap food items (take away).
