The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but SHORTER TEMPERS; wider freeways, but NARROWER VIEW POINTS. We spend more, but HAVE LESS; we buy more, but ENJOY LESS; We have bigger houses and SMALLER FAMILES; more conveniences, but LESS TIME. We have more degrees but *LESS SENSE (I just hope some how our senselessness will ponder over this, it continues) more knowledge, but LESS JUDGEMENT; more experts, yet more PROBLEMS; more medicine, but LESS WELLNESS.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up to late, get up too tired, READ TOO LITTLE, watch TV too much, and PRAY TOO SELDOM. We have multiplied our possessions, but REDUCED OUR VALUES. We talk too much, love too seldom, and HATE TOO OFTEN. We've learned how to make a living, but NOT A LIFE. We've added years to life NOT LIFE TO YEARS. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but HAVE TROUBLE CROSSING THE STREET TO MEET A NEW NEIGHBOUR. We conquered outer space but NOT INNER SPACE (this I find most important, our innerself is the ONLY BATTLE FIELD and not the avoidable wars, killing one another, conquering of our inner self to incline towards GOOD eschewing EVIL it continues)  
We've done larger things, but NOT BETTER THINGS. We've cleaned up the air, but POLLUTED THE SOUL. We've conquered atom but NOT OUR PREJUDICE. We write more, BUT LEARN LESS. We plan more but ACCOMPLISH LESS. We've learned to rush, but not TO WAIT. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but WE COMMUNICATE LESS AND LESS.

These are the times of fast foods and SLOW DIGESTION; Big men and SMALL CHARACTER; step profit and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but MORE DIVORCE;

Fancier houses but BROKEN HOMES. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, THROW AWAY MORALITY, ONE NIGHT STANDS, OVERWEIGHT BODIES, AND PILLS THAT DO EVERYTHING FROM CHEER, TO QUIET, TO KILL. fancier houses but broken homes.

A system that dignify the strong and powerful at the expense of the weak and voiceless

VirginDiva this is a very THOUGHT PROVOKING thread which essence i understood very long ago. And this is how it really goes "IF TODAY IS MY LAST DAY ON EARTH WILL I REPEAT WHAT I DID YESTERDAY". If anyone has to start doing something differently all because its their last day on Earth. The TRUTH is that they have infact been living a DEAD LIFE all the while outside the REALITY, called DEATH, the inevitable. Hence, a FALSE LIFE. So, my answer to your question: If today is my last day on earth, it makes no difference to me. There is nothing extraordinary about it being the last, for i have always lived my life as if its my last since when i understood that death has this attribute of being unforeseen. Can come and take me away when i least expect it,  any day, at any time, THIS IS THE REALITY. Hence i am always prepared by SINCERELY being ME not living a life to please the world but be at peace with it. Hence my last day will be no different but PEACE as has been my goal a day before, will still be an unchanging goal on that last day, to live in PEACE, die in PEACE, rest in PEACE. All routine remains intact, a PERFECT WAY of life called PEACE .

I won't and never will be one who until when they are faced by the inevitable DEATH that is when they start jumping up and down trying to clean up a MESSED UP LIFE, a choice of their own to be messy. For I choose not to mess up my own life, by being on the NEGATIVE. Why then am I blessed with a faculty of reasoning like we all are blessed with one, if not to make wise choices DOING THE RIGHT THINGS SO AS TO REAP THE RIGHT RESULT? Anyway, LIFE is too short. Like blink of an eye, even if you live a 100 years or a thousand minus one or billion plus a trillion years, it is still as short as just blinking an eye.
