The Nigerian Army on Monday handed over 244 Boko Haram suspects, who it said have given up membership of the terrorist group, to the Borno State government.

The handing over of the suspects was in commemoration of the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The suspects comprise 56 women, 118 adult male, 19 under aged persons and 51 children.

Presenting the suspects at the Military Cemetery in Maiduguri, venue of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Rogers Nicholas, a major-general, said the release of the repentant Boko Haram members was approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, a Lieutenant-General .

He said the suspects had been properly screened and confirmed to have sincerely repented of allegiance to the group.

The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, commended the military for its ongoing de-radicalisation efforts in the war against the almost nine year old Boko Haram insurgency.

Mr. Shettima took time to speak with some of the insurgents who assured him of their readiness to be absorbed into the society and promised to be law abiding citizens.

The high point of the Remembrance Day event was the laying of wreaths by the governor and top military officers.

This war was clearly foretold.

We were all duly warned by history and mother nature.

The signs were all there for all to see.

How can any reasonable person not know that a man who openly defended the world deadliest terror group, Boko haram and declared that any attack against them was an attack against the North. A man who openly voted a fellow fulani man from Niger Republic for the AU position as against his country man. A man who contested election under the platform of a little known CPC which had only one state of Nassarawa and lost but still rejected the result and instigated his minions to slaughter thousands. A man who left power for over 30 years but made no attempt to improve himself in any way, wrote no book, organized no seminar or workshop but only played with his cows for all those period. A man who failed woefully even with a loaded gun and a suspended constitution. A man who openly promised to use everything within his power to spread his religion throughout the country.

How can any right-thinking person believe that this man was the right man to pilot the affairs of a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country in a 21st century democracy??

How?

How?

For the sake of God, How

I weak for Nigeria

Benue, Kaduna South, Jos and all southern states should be careful and be on guard.

Vampires on the loose

its very clear this country is a shithole. the north is really wasting our resources on this useless fight against boko haram.

its time we go our separate ways. we are lying to ourself with this fraud called unity.

shell oil are behind this destruction of our collective sense, tax payers money is been wasted.

boko haram want sharia which majority of the north secretly want. including buhari why not give it to them.

i suspect that they are recruited as Fulani herdsmen to further the struggle of killing for more colonies.
the nomadic business is a big business. they claim to lost 2,000,000 cattle's which is roughly half a trillion naira. if that is true they should be able to pay taxes per head of cow.

Meaning Of Colonies.. (at Least This Should Ring A Bell To All Nigerians)

colonies
noun

colonies is a plural word and cannot be define directly.

Firstly you cant get the actual meaning of colonies without first understanding what the singular of it is.

Example, colony is the singular which can be define and while colonies is the plural.

colony
noun

1, Colony. A colony is a country which is controlled by a more powerful country.

( Example, this is talking about colonialism, to colonize another country or area. more like the colonial era )

2, Colony. A country or area under the full or partial political control of another country and occupied by settlers from that country..

( Example, this is talking about a siege to another country or community. forcefully conversion of land occupancy, strategic location, natural resources e.t.c without recognition of the state law or it people, only answerable to parent region. more like a colonial era )

3, Colony. A colony is a group of people who settle in a new place but keep ties to their homeland.

( Example, this one means that a government of it own is existing inside another government territory, which is not answerable to the law of the lands, but rather to another government where it came from. the state laws or community control is not applicable to them, they are totally independent and exempted from all forms of controls of the states. more like a totalitarian.)

now since we can now fathom what is colony, let check the plural which is colonies.

colonies means having more colony, and in translation it means having the colony the size of a local government across the whole 36 states.

lalasticlala, seun.

In this government, courts are homes for reptiles. I wonder what will be going through the minds of Tinubu, Ngige, Amaechi right now. Buhari is one big mistake that'll be so indelible in the sands of time in Nigeria.

If Nigerians ever vote again for Buhari or anything associated with APC in 2019, then I'll know they are under a spell to remains fools.

Nigeria became a shithole country under Buhari. When will they release innocent IPOB members who never shed blood? Tinubu was used to reach Lagos and they will continue to target the remaning Ekiti and Ogun States but the Yorubas cannot see it, instead the Fulanis have turned them into hating their pillars of Fulani resistance like Fayose, FFK etc. Now, Amaechi is the one they want to use in SS. They still want to use Rochas but he will fall their hands as an Igbo man because SE is the Hqr of die-hard Christians. That is why they told you no need for cattle colonies in the land where the wise men comes. But I give it to the Fulanis until the South and Christians start playing hard and seek politics and revange kilings ike them. They kill 100s and tell you don't show their corpses in public and the mumu educated people will agree and it has been like that, and tomorrow one fool they will still deal with will say the video is doctored.

Good moves. The expected $1 Billion must be justified through pockets of technically defeated bomb blasts.

Btw: are there anything like repentant terrorists?

It pains me that my fellow Yoruba who were mislead in voting this useless government into power are still under the yoke and bondage of the broom demons.

Alhaji Kashim Shettima, your part of the script and culpability in Boko Haram films & Chibok girls saga is well known. You might have secured the release of your boys and foot soldiers using the link to other players within the game. But remember that the blood of those killed will surely cry for vengeance. All of you culpable in this bloodletting will NEVER escape the judgement day.

Shame of a nation. A country that release killers and terrorists to go free. angry

this is totally wrong!!

these guys committed murder and terrorism and must dance to the tunes of the court.

they weren't granted presidential pardon, how do you "release a repentant terrorist", so the ones now in their 10th year in prison for numerous other charges against them aren't repented and worth releasing too?

this is unconstitutional and the army don't reserve right to do this. Buhari still rules like the dictator he was. these guys are internationally recognized terrorists and you're granting them release for repentance, the ipob guys who never killed any Nigerian are the ones worth languishing in jail right.

I've never seen any government that's so tribal and pro-north, as much as flouting the federal constitution like Buhari.

you'll surely answer to all these when you leave power in 2019.
