INEC Cautions Politicians Against Taking Ongoing Voter-registration To Campaign by nazzyon(m): 6:34pm On Jan 25, 2018 |
By Balogun Alabi, The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has cautioned politicians in the country not to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to campaign for future elections. INEC urged the politicians to follow the regulations guiding election, adding that no one should under any circumstance campaign under the guise of mobilisation when the commission has not lifted the ban on campaign. The commission said that the government should continue to work towards realizing free, credible and transparent election and no one should position or look for undue advantage According to INEC, politicians had a role to play in order to guarantee credible polls, adding that they needed to play by the rules when mobilising the electorate for the CVR. http://www.theguildng.com/inec-cautions-politicians-against-taking-ongoing-voter-registration-to-campaign/ |
