An unspecified number of school children are feared dead as a school bus carrying them went up in flames at Trade Moore Estate, Lugbe,Abuja.

An eyewitness identified only as Faith told DailyNaija that the school children were pupils of Little Drops School in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to her, the school bus has been in a bad condition for a long time and the school management paid little care to it until the unfortunate incident happened.

Although there are claims that the fire was ignited by a keg of petrol which the driver had kept in the bus, it is not exactly clear what led to the fire.

Our source who met two of the bereaved parents said they were in a pool of their own tears as they are yet to come to terms with the tragic news.

She said: "The relatives of the affected kids are not spared as they wailed alongside the parents cursing out and praying that the story was just a tale.
