Who doesn't have that one friend that fell in love at some point with the wrong person? Observing from the sideline, we knew this fact but could not bear telling them the truth. So we kept 'mum'. In the African context we call it "witchcraft". He or she must have been bewitched by a " love portion ". Else what would have made them fall so mindlessly for a " player " or "lunatic" so saying.

All thesame, they (we) seldom realise it by themselves (ourselves) and its like "what the hell was I thinking?"

We have all heard the quotes "Love is blind" or "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". Another quote says " love is not blind, it sees all the negatives but still puts up with them". But, trust me when I say "believe these statements at your own peril".

Really, what's beautiful should be beautiful to everyone else (not just to you who is in the relationship alone). Love should never be blind to negative things happening around it. When things are not going well, love should try to fix the "negatives" and not ignore them.

You should never get so hypnotized by love that all you see is "beauty" while everyone else sees "disaster". For example, your partner abusing you daily, verbally insulting you or deliberately starving you of affection for months without end, are obvious evidences that they don't really love you. But because he is so rich or handsome, she is so curvaceous or pretty looking, we still love them so much, it feels like we cannot survive the earth without them. We are so blind to every other logical facts about them.

Most times we are not even conscious of the fact that we are love-blind. A person may be so blinded by love to the point that he does not even notice some red flags about his partner.

Here are some indicators that you may be indeed love-blind.

1. You stop thinking of everything else but your partner.

2. Everything and everyone becomes secondary.

3. There is no limit to what you can do for your partner.

4. You stop deciding for yourself

5. You are obsessed with him/her.

6. You start excusing obvious bad behaviour.
