My problem with all these search for oil in northern or upper Benue trough is that it will probably yield low or no result, as a matter of fact, lower Benue has oil potentiality and prolific as well, its going to be a total waste of time and money searching for oil where it has been drained and flowed through cracks and fractures to the lower Benue trough which have prolific aquifer that's porous and permeable

Barely two weeks after the release of some lecturers prospecting for oil at the Chad Basin, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC,has concluded arrangement to recommence exploration activities at the basin, Managing Director of NNPC,Maikanti Baru,has said.
Oil exploration activities at the Chad Basin was suspended for months due to the abduction of the three lecturers from the University of Maiduguri which raised fresh security concerns.
Baru,who led a team of the company’s top management staff to the Kaduna International Trade fair on Wednesday said the NNPC has discovered four locations in the BenueTrough which has renewed its hope on the prospect of an oil find in the basin and is ready to go back.
“On the Lake Chad oil exploration,we have been working tirelessly and we thank the President for rescuing some of the lecturers that were involved in the exploration in the region.We are going back to the Chad Basin with full force,” He said.

The Nigerian government has spent billions over the past 30 years searching for oil in the chad basin all to no avail.

These fools think they can change the geology of the location.

They have continued the elusive search for hy­drocarbons in the Lake Chad Basin for over 3 decades and have spent about $350 million and additional N35 billion, in seismic expedition.

Yet the northern oligarchs still continue its crude oil exploration in the North East region. What type of country is this?

2030 that is already here? Have u 4gotten the Abacha's vision 2020? It's already 2020 and we are not close to it. Say 2050 dat will be a reasonable time 4 naija. Many Nigerians won't be yoked by religion then.

It's just a matter of time for oil to be discovered in commercial quantity in lake Chad basin and possibly Benue trough. Maybe that's God's plan to tame the terrorists aka militants in the Nd - with oil in the north, they blow up pipilines in the creek at their own peril.
