Why can't he arrest them? Is he not the chief security officer of the state? What a weak governor!. Arrest them first and let us see what their sympathisers have to do or say. |

Tosin17: The Police is centralized and thus, under the direct control of the President. Governors are only the Chief Security Officers of their states nominally. In this unitary system, they have zero powers to command or enforce the Police to do anything, their orders come from Abuja. You need to understand Nigeria is a fraud. It is painted in the cosmetics of Federalism but it is a Unitary state completely. If we were practising Federalism truly, the state would have its own Police & the Governor would be the Chief Security Officer. Nigeria gives you names & tags of a Federal system but there is no Federal institution in place. |
