I was not ordained but I was on the process to it. The Catholic Church accept resignation if you can't bear it. It is better than to decieve yourself. The Bishop must have heard and accepted his reasons.

How many times have you promised God to leave an impeccable life yet gone back to your sins, oath is equally a promise to God, life is more personal than people views and opinions...
