The House of Representatives says having passed a vote of no confidence on the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, it no longer has any business with him and does not regard him as a ‘Honourable Minister’.
The House also mandated its ad-hoc committee on Ajaokuta Steel Complex to consider the possibility of a Bill for an Act to provide for the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Company and prohibit its concessioning before the completion.

POLICE KILL WANTED PORT HARCOURT KIDNAP KINGPIN, ARREST THREE GANG MEMBERS
The police on Thursday announced that they have killed a notorious Port Harcourt kidnap kingpin who has been on their wanted list.
According to a statement issued by Jimoh Moshood, the spokesperson of the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the wanted kidnapper, identified as Prosper David, was killed during a shoot-out between the police and his gang.

POLICE WARN OF IMPENDING BOKO HARAM ATTACK IN BORNO
The police in Maiduguri, Borno state on Thursday issued an alert, warning residents of an impending attack by Boko Haram using vehicles loaded with explosives.
The police said should the planned attack succeed, it may result in heavy casualty as the insurgents are suspected to be targeting strategic densely populated locations of the city.

GAMBIA WILL ‘COLLAPSE’ IF NIGERIA WITHDRAWS HER SUPPORT – TAMBAJANG
The Vice-President of The Gambia, Fatoumata Tambajang, has said that The Gambia would ‘collapse’ if Nigerians stop rendering services and support to the country.
Tambajang made the remark at a dinner organised for the Nigerian delegation to the 62nd Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the Nigeria House, New York, on Thursday night.

FG REMOVES DICHOTOMY BETWEEN HND & DEGREE HOLDERS CIVIL SERVICE
The Federal Government has removed the dichotomy between holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) and Degree in the Federal Civil Service.
The Permanent Secretary, Policy and Strategy office of the Head Office Civil Service of the Federation, Ndubuisi Osuji, made this known at the National Council on Establishment holding in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
