The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the release of Dapchi schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe State as a scam by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

The girls were released on Wednesday morning with about five of them reportedly dead.

In a statement on Twitter by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologboniyan, the party said the release of the girls was a plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to gain heroic appraisal from Nigerians.

He wrote “#Dapchi: A poorly crafted tragicomedy lacking intelligence and tact.

“A scam of no equal dimensions the world over. @OfficialPDPNig had repeatedly warned about conspiratorial plots advanced by @APCNigeria interests to gain heroic attainments.

“This time, the plot has failed. It achieved disgraceful, embarrassing and ignoble ends.”

The party made lots of noise when the kidnapping took place and blamed everything on the president. The reaction of PDP members to this release have really shown that the party is only interested in scoring political points out of the kidnapping and not interested at all in the safety of any Nigerian. We should not allow crass politicians who have no humanity left in them to score cheap points from the crisis. The girls are truly back with their parents and that is the greatest news of today. All patriotic Nigerians should be happy for this huge breakthrough. All attempts by the losers in PDP to twist the news of the release is dead on arrival.

The so-called abduction and release of the school Yobe girls (this morning) was a well calculated script orchestrated by the federal government and All Progressive Congress to divert Nigeria's scarce resources and deceive unsuspecting members of the public

Firstly, since the news of the purported abduction broke out, Boko Haram never came out to admit attacking or being in possession of the girls unlike what was transpired in 2014 after the Chibok girls kidnap.

Secondly, there are reports that the military and other security agencies  were preinformed of the invasion militiamen in military uniform to Dapchi but they did nothing.

Thirdly, the purported kidnap only happened just when the APC corrupt military dismantled their checkpoint in the area

The truth of the matter is that the girls have always been in the detention of government mercenaries and agents. President Buhari and APC know that they have lost goodwill so they had to recruit their mercenaries to act their script and reward them with part of government resources in the guise of ransom while the bulk of it is diverted into prosecuting the President's reelection. 

The aims are to divert public attention from the growing insecurity in Benue, Taraba, Zamfara and other states where death has been going nonstop due to farmers and herdsmen feud and divert public resources. But Nigerians can't be fooled the second time.

I agreed with you on the point that the most important thing is that the innocent girls has been returned. But what baffles me is how most Nigerians especially the youths have allowed party, religious and ethnic affiliations to becloud their sense of reasonings. If not for credible organisations like Amnesty International, successive Governments in Nigeria would have been getting away with their grass incompetence and devious acts. Please read carefully the report of Amnesty International on the Dachi girls adoption and you will realise the glaring complicity and incompetence of our security agencies and Government on the matter. I found it absurd that after the Chibok Girls adoption, the Federal Government still failed to ensure that a school in the theatre of Boko Haram insurgency is not well secured. I found it disturbing that over 100 girls can be kidnapped in broad daylight and moved several kilometres . It is also most likely that ransom was paid to secured their released and some hardened Boko Haram members may have been exchanged for the girls. For how long are we going to continue on this vicious circle of terror where our innocent children are used as pawns in the political game of terror? Is it possible that a new way of shiphoning our money has been devised and some people are smiling to the bank?
It is rather sad that we now find ourselves in a situation were our political parties and leaders are competing and comparing their level of incompetence...I listened to the Channel interview of the country director of Amnesty International yesterday. She was confirmed that they have evidences that our security agency were well informed beforehand about the plan of Boko Haram to adopt the girls. Let stop dwelling on the past and call a spade a spade...We voted for Buhari becsuse we wanted change and PMB has not been living up to expectations. He is a disappointment!
