why are people always bias , where you not in this country when the police invite Dino for investigation? He refused and you were all praising him , now that the police is dealing with him , the senate now want to IG to honor their own invitation, why didn’t Saraki tell Dino to honor the Police invitation at first ?
Thank you but why did the IGP disobey buhari's order to move to Benue?.

Bleep the senates they have done nothing but bring shame to this country. Can someone mention one thing the senate has done to help Nigerians ? All the fault is always for the president. Jonathan was the one they blamed for Boko Haram, buhari for herdsmen. What is the senate doing to support this country. Just one thing

when police invited Dino he didn’t go! They were within the right of their constitutional duty but he felt he was bigger than the law ! Why should the senate summon him for doing his job ! Because one of them is being investigated! That’s a clear case of obstruction !

This is a very simple thing...

Issue a Bench Warrant naming a General of the Nigerian Army loyal to the Senate to produce the IG.

Simple!!

The General will storm Police Headquarters Maitama with all his battalion and disgrace the Police Chief when his subordinates start taking pictures of him being charted away in handcuffs and posting pictures on facebook.

Goat wey no dey hear word, may he become isi ewu!!

I expect nass to immediately sanction the yeye I.G now by calling for this immediate removal from office and the police budget defense but put on hold indefinitely. Remember Same thing the custom guy did and nothing happen...

Imagine the level of lawlessness by IG. This is someone who is supposed and expected to be an epitome of obedience to law and order.

This is outright show of shame and shamelessness. The IG is not fit to be in that office.

It's not about Saraki. It's about the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. And nobody, not even the President, is bigger than the entire country. This is a very bad precedence.

Partisan brigands supporting lawlessness. The NASS is co/equal arm of government. Not appearing before is like the same as not appearing before a court of law.

I am laughing in Chinese. The simple truth is that after the closed door meetings nothing of note will happen. Have they succeeded in ousting the EFCC boss yet? Bunch of toothless bulldogs.

Magu is a different case we support him because its not about life and property. IGP go and explain to us how thousands are dying unnecessarily. Someone in the Senate should call for citizens arrest on the IGP for negligence of duty.

This is wrong by the IG of police and why didn't they tell there member to appear before the police when he was asked to do so.This is a game of do me I do you. This is seriously having effect on our democracy.

It is painful to say this but I find it most appropriate now to accept the allegation that the activities of the present administration with respect to its actions and inactions is the height of disobedience for the rule of law in the entire history of our democracy.

Why the IG finds it most comfortable to refuse the summon for a third time is unimaginable. This is the same person that holds one of the most strategic security post in the country refusing to be accountable to the same people he claims to serve. May God help us.

The Nigerian Senate is currently locked in a closed-door meeting over the refusal of the inspector-general of police, Idris Kptum Ibrahim to appear for the third time before the upper legislative chamber.

The IGP was first invited a two weeks ago but failed to show up. He was re-summoned again to appear last week but he declined. For the last time, the Senate invited him to appear today. He did not show up.

At the end of the closed-door session, the Senate will take a decision on the appropriate sanctions to melt out.

I said it sometimes ago that Nigeria cannot be governed by the central power, let each region looks after itself because democracy is a luxury we can no longer afford.

It's only in Nigeria - Africa that Democracy is indeed Crazy

A useless banana republic that is what we are as a country. Everyone just wants to show himself unnecessarily. Do we blame the IG ? when his own boss is the MVP when it comes to not obeying court orders what do we expect from him. Even the useless senators are the ones that allowed themselves to be made a laughing stock. Bunch of criminals masquerading as lawmakers.

In serious countries, pple prefer to commit suicide than to face senate in some serious matters. How can an IG ignore senate call?

Well, senate holds the mantle. Just a little twick in the law, everybody will know their stand.

D senate could be foolish in many things, bt the arrogance of these semi illiterate public officers knows no bound.
and who will sign any amendment before it becomes law?

This GEJ poo, abeg stick it up your scrutum. Under whose administration were nass members tear gased, under which admin was the speaker's security details withdrawn for decamping, under which admin was the state nass used to impeach or start impeachment proceedings kn sitting governors just like was done to Nyako for decamping, under whose admin was Mbu used to terrorize a sitting governor, u want me to go on? Make ur point without all this GEJ bull crap.

U dont see anything wrong when the police invites a senator or house of rep. member but deliberately refuse to honor the invitation because they are bigger than the law. How.many times did saraki refuse to go to CCT, how many times did Dino refuse to honour police invitation but rather hide in the convoy of Saraki...
What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Let the senate for start by respecting the law, and not feeling bigger than the law. Then all this ur stories can make sense.

Are you seriously asking dt question?

1. They can remove d president's veto power to sign bills into law like it is done in some countries

2. They can override the president's veto power by 70% legislative vote (cnt rmba if it's 70 or50% now)

In demoncracy, power liewith d people and law makers are representing dem (even though they are crooks as well)

Statemen think of next generations, politicians think of next elections. Nigeria is a typical example.
