https://newtelegraphonline.com/2018/05/ipob-sit-at-home-flops-in-imo/

The sit-at-home order issued to the people of the Southeast and South-South by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) failed in Owerri, the Imo state capital, as residents of the city freely went about their businesses ignoring the directive.

Unlike previous episodes of the sit-at-home, there was no tension or apprehension ahead of yesterday’s sit-at-home exercise meant to last from morning to 6pm.

Unlike the last time it happened, Owerri, the Imo state capital bustled into life with its usual energy as early as 7 am, with commercial and private vehicles flooding the roads and streets within the city.

Markets, business offices, eatery joints and filling stations were all in full operations.

Not even the commercial banks which are usually careful and sensitive to issues of agitation were shut, as the bank road and banking hall bustled with activities.

The order did not stop civil servants, teachers and school children from reporting to their places of work and learning. Hawkers were not left out as the bank road/Assumpta road hawkers were seen doing brisk business.

However, there was a heavy and conspicuous presence of security operative across the city

How come it failed in imo? The reason is simply because it was politically motivated and not in sincere interest of Igbos. Okorocha never issued any threats like other governors or even discussed about it but the people chose to go about their normal business.

Fake news!

The above report says

Unlike previous episodes of the sit-at-home, there was no tension or apprehension ahead of yesterday’s sit-at-home exercise meant to last from morning to 6pm.

The sit at home was today! So why are they saying it was yesterday? Obviously, the person who cooked up this report wrote it in advance before the sit at home and didn't have the patience to wait for today to elapse before posting it!

Okey Alozie

The sit at home threat issued by members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) was carried out successfully in different parts of the South East on Wednesday 30th of May, 2018.

Our reporter who rolved round strategic places observed that while it recorded a huge success in Aba and Onitsha, that of Owerri, Imo State capital recorded partial participation, as residents of Owerri refused to observe the sit at home and went on with their usual business activities without fear or molestation from anybody.

The report from Owerri revealed that many people actually ignored the sit at home order and went for their businesses. Though, Mbaise Area respected the MASSOB order but used the period to visit their farms, hold meetings and clean their environment.
The law enforcement agents were stationed at Ahiara junction and strategic places to monitor MASSOB people and arrest any of them going against the law but as at the time of filing this report no arrest was made. Some of the MASSOB members who spoke to our reporter said the sit at home was carried as a sign of demonstrate against the injustice meted on the South East people by Nigerian government.
