Yakubu is a shameless, fat excuse for a player! Just can't believe how he managed to get a contract with Everton. Ohhh, I forgot. . .English clubs suck! |

Our boys were not FIT Reason: Too OLD and too COMFORTABLE. The Koreans were shaking, We couldn't press the Game, We lacked space, just too SLOW. I think Largeback hasn't done anything wrong though. But for the money he earns, SIASIA would be a better option for the LONG-TERM |

mama-gee: He cant hide anymore. The spotlight is now on him much more than before. Whatever he does to our National coaches and NFF to always get into the team, they must rebel against and exorcise the evil from their midst . |

I said it from the very start that Tunisia would have been a better representative for Africa. Of all the African representatives, Nigeria's performance was the most horrible. Other teams lost but at least they played good football. Thank God there was an interesting Wimbledon match going on |
Re: Nigeria Vs South Korea: 2 - 2 @ World Cup 2010, June 22 by naso2(m): 11:00pm On Jun 22, 2010 |
you guys can abuse the boys the way you want, aside yakubu that was very wasteful in front of goal and afolabi and shittu at the back that had a less than average showing, I think the rest tried. Ayila was near excellent, uche was excellent, Ogbuke had very commendable workrate. on a luckier day we would have won by at least two goals I still insist that kaita cost us this qualification. |

Well . . . we at least were responsible for two history-making events in this World Cup. Greece win their first game at a World Cup (score their first goal in fact) via Nigeria. South Korea qualify for their first round of 16 away from home soil against Nigeria. |

Our national team is like everything about Nigeria and Nigerians. We are always are our own worst enemies. It was not only Yaka that messed up, twice the selfish Obasi failed to pass to his team mates who were unmarked in front of goal and went for glory himself. Well their holiday in South Africa is over and they can all return to warming the bench for their clubs as most of them do while Lagerback our oyinbo master will collect his easy money and return to Europe laughing at our foolish NFA that appointed him! |

u see i can't blame those children, I blame NFF, they allowed them take their wives, mistresses and girlfriends, when it is suppose to be football business. All the energy for fitness is used over night on something else. Besides, how many of them are genuinely marry? Kanu and Mrs Yakubu and who esle? then the rest spend the cold south African fornicating with girlfriends. Then the annoying part is that they start praying before and after every match, who are the fooling, God?, silly children, hisses |

is it not fair to say the north and the west caused our downfall in the world cup? @Bawses Abeg, I 've had enough of this "North vs West vs East vs South vs Centre vs whatever" blame game. It has been plaguing many on this forum and it remains one of the major causes of our stagnation in our country. Some people are so shallow minded and are quick to throw the "regional card" into what should be a healthy debate. Football is the best unifying factor in this country, there had never been a perfect demonstration of oneness among Nigerians like it had been the case during International soccer events, and as always, some of our country men/women try to ruin that by playing their usual "regional/tribal" dogma. Whenever Kalu or Taiwo or Martins or Odemwingie or Lukman proudly wears that shirt and enters the field, I dont see an Easterner/Westerner/Mid-westerner/Northerner/Central, what I proudly see is a Nigerian, representing not only his country, but an entire continent. If a player under-performs - as was the case with Yakubu, Martins and others today- he and/or the coach should be held accountable, period! Today, the whole continent is united in our grief and sorrow after SE lackluster-ed performance against Korea. It did not matter which region of the country a certain player come from; the bottom line is that our country has lost and we are moaning. |

1,2: You need a coach to motivate them to fight for the nation. How can a foreign coach motivate the players? |

think about it. the best football of our lives was displayed when westerhof was in charge. the man understood us like no other and knew what made us tick. like everything in Nigeria we never built on the foundation laid by him and automaticaly assumed that we can survive without planning. My advice; bring him back. find out what he did and how he did it and attach competent people to replace him when the time is right. i know a lot of people will cry foul with this suggestion but like everything in naija logic escapes most of us. they will say "move on, we don't need him". well i have news for you. we have moved on and it has been downhill ever since. My other advice; line every person in NFF agains a wall. it does not matter which wall and shoot them. blow them all to hell. BASTARDS. |
