What is the difference between (Android one) and (Android go). are they both different from the usual Android os we are used to? Which is better among them and why?

For devices with Android One, Google actually offers software development services to manufacturers. So perhaps a handset maker like infinix is good at building hardware, marketing, and has retail experience, but they’re not good at software. In this case, Google offers them Android One and commits to sending updates and security patches for an agreed time period, directly to the handsets. Android One gives a stock Android experience.


Devices with Android Go doesn’t come directly from Google – Google sends it to a handset maker like Nokia, and then Nokia releases it. This also means that Nokia has to release updates and upgrades when they’re pushed out from Google, adding in a delay that isn’t there with stock or Android One.

FOR WHICH ONE IS BETTER all depends on what you can afford. A device with a low Specification like 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM is better running on Android Go.

While devices with with Specifications like 16GB of storage and 2GB of ram is better running on Android One

You've actually mixed things up.

Both Android one and Go edition are from Google.

Google is so concerned about the security of its OS. The major disadvantage Android has over other operating system is security. The Android One is just the most secured form of android. It is android the way Google want it. The major advantage of Android one is that you get security updates every months and you can upgrade to at least the next 2 versions of android. The software will be secured by Google as the OEM has no right to alter it. It is the purest and to me, the best form of android.

Go edition of android is meant for phones with lower RAMs (1gb RAM and below). On this, all proprietary apps of Google on this comes in smaller sizes. You have the File go, YouTube Go, Gmail Go, Map Go, Chrome Go. This will help the phone against lagging, help improve stability and help save data.

In simple terms, android one is follow come, direct from Google, no tweaking by the device manufacturer.

But android go is for low budget devices to have a good performance relative to high end devices.

Good answer, in addition Googling the question is just hoarding knowledge that could be shared with other nairalanders besides Google will not give you forum-like, nail type answers like nairaland gives.

Android Go. For more storage out of the box

Android one. For regular security updates and faster cleaner interface.

Android One, unmodified pure android OS from google.(nothing concerns oem, regular sec patches directly from google)

Android Go, OEM customizable lightweight OS targeted at low end phones. (Started with android oreo to enable it run on even devices with 512mb ram n low storage like those annoying itel)
