Uruguay are knocking the ball around with ease and South Africa cannot get a foot on it at the moment. When the hosts do get forward, there is usually only Katlego Mphela in the area at any one time, which isn't enough

yes they will need an extra striker, or maybe push puenaar forwards.

he was too far away from the goal, hence the header was not directed with much power.

I dnt understand Modisa at all.His game is somehow, always losing the ball and never making any good pass into the 18
Re: World Cup: South Africa Vs Uruguay (0 - 3) On Wednesday 16th June 2010 by 9ja4eva: 8:16pm On Jun 16, 2010
This is far too easy for Uruguay, they are not under wany real pressure anywhere on the pitch. Look at Carlos Alberto Parreira, he knows he's going to have to change it, he knows.

The South American teams are quite disciplined; SA players will have to increase their game or its bye bye.

end of lacklustre first half. carlos alberto should make an early second half substitution. i still think he should have included benny macarthy in the squad.

"Emmanuel Adebayor
"I think Aaron Mokoena must have seen Diego Forlan play a lot of times - we've all seen him play a lot of times and we know he likes to shoot on sight. They gave him too much space to get his shot away."

Re: World Cup: South Africa Vs Uruguay (0 - 3) On Wednesday 16th June 2010 by 9ja4eva: 8:29pm On Jun 16, 2010
South Africa need to get the ball forward a bit quicker. Move Pienaar out to the right or left, where he plays for Everton, and put another centre-forward on. It's not quite Cup football yet, but it's not far away from it. Uruguay are working as hard as a Premier League team.
Re: World Cup: South Africa Vs Uruguay (0 - 3) On Wednesday 16th June 2010 by snowdrops(m): 8:32pm On Jun 16, 2010
south africa clearly cannot afford to lose this match.

there is too much at stake and they must not rely on getting a result against france which will be a tall order should they lose today

Bafana  are finding it difficult to keep the ball because one on one they get nervy and lose the ball whereas the Uruguayans are really enjoying carressing that ball out there. They are by miles the better side even if they don't eventually win this game, I wish  tongue
