theoldpretender: Man, where are you getting this notion from? The masses are working their as$es off on daily basis just to eat one or two meals per day. The only few people who spend the oil money are less than 1% of our population. Nigeria governments at various levels don't provide free food or money to anyone. You don't expect someone using hoe and cutlass to produce much. He needs to go mechanised but where is the government support? You don't set up factories with stones, you need money. |

So, because of that they should just abandon the project and steal the money? I see your sense. It was a very sophisticated well reasoned. theoldpretender: |

authority2006: The reason why they loot is because most Nigerians are too lazy to hold them to account, or only hold the chap to account if he is from the wrong tribe. Plus, many Nigerians think development equals more money. If GSM companies followed your logic regarding prices, the whole GSM revolution won't have happened. Once upon a time SIM was very expensive. But thanks to the high amounts of money raked in from selling Sims At 10000naira, GSM companies had the cash to expand and upgrade facilities. And to eventually bring down prices. And to think some people wanted govt to make them charge lower back then 1 Like |

kazyhm: So Yorubas played the tribal game when they voted for Buhari. What game were they playing when they fought for Jonathan to be made substantive president after the death of Yar'Adua? What game were they playing when they voted for Jonathan in 2013? What game were they playing when they rejected Buhari more than 3times at the poll prior to 2015? Are you even aware of what's going on in Nigerian politics? I doubt it. It is fine to mention pedigree when talking about Buhari. You voted for Jonathan despite his pedigree as a non achiever. He as deputy governor and then governor of Bayelsa state yet did nothing. He was vice President and then President for 6years yet all we got was corruption. He didn't even clean up the oil spillage in his home town and it took a Fulani man, the same Buhari to start the process. Yet you talk of pedigree? Ok o But then its your vote, your life. You've got one. You are free to vote in whoever you like. 2 Likes 1 Share |

It's very convenient for you to blame the victims ehn So because Nigerians are not paying enough, the people in charge of all the institutions you mentioned should just cart away the money for themselves. I like your reasoning. theoldpretender: 1 Like |

TheEminentLaity: We paid high prices for GSM back in the day, and they took our money and used it to expand and improve their facilities and eventually bring down prices. Also, why don't you hold your leaders accountable? Or vote for leaders you can hold accountable? Where do you get the idea I supported bad leadership? |
Re: Man Calls On Chinese Govt. For Help After A Visit To Port Harcourt Airport by authority2006(m): 9:48am On Jul 14, 2018 |
kazyhm: You guys just made it look like the Yorubas votes are being controlled by Tinubu. Funny. Check the last presidential votes for both Jonathan and Buhari in the SW and tell us the margin. People belong to political parties because they see themselves as politicians and they will vote for the parties they belong to irrespective of the tribe of the candidates. Let Tinubu cross to SDP or LP today and let's see if APC and PDP won't record more votes for their presidential candidates in 2019. Lastly, Yorubas don't play tribal games, we're the most detribalised ethnic group in Nigeria of today. Go to SE and SS and see the block votes for a particular party. In the SW, you can never see anything like that. So, where is the tribal game coming from? May be, you would have preferred a block votes from the Yorubas too which is the real tribal game. |

zinizta:Cameroon has over 200 tribes and civil war is almost looming. The English have been continuously marginalised and want their own country. What started as protests turned into people carrying arms. Gabon is also a very poor example to use. Poverty is also very rampant and the country is very diverse too as there are over 50 tribes. |

authority2006: 1.You misunderstood me. Sorry. 2.I do my bit by voting for alternative parties in every election. Parties that are not APC or PDP. (ncp orKOWA) 3.But you moan about corruption and yet support and vote for the same old, same old. 4.Keep on moaning. We have all been moaning about the cat since independence. But when it is time to bell the cat, we argue about things like the size of the bell, the definition of a cat, or whether the cat is Hausa, ibo, yoruba,or foreign. |

theoldpretender: Don't deceive yourself, the prices of SIM cards and tariffs came down because of competitions. I remember mtn telling us that they couldn't charge at per second billing until glo came with per second charge. DSTV subscription had been at the high side since. How many years now in Nigeria? Has their charge come down? Why? Because there's no competition. |

You should know that sometime or most times, smart people finds their way to manipulation and harness the situation on ground So you expect Goodluck to be pushed aside while being the VP for who exactly ? Did Goodluck contested as as a governor in bayelsa ? He is just always at the door of chances to lead.......he was match-maked with Ya'adua so also during his governorship tenure..........which are all the products of some calculated interest |

Princedapace:Nairalanders all over the country can do it in our respective states. We can on nairaland agree on when, where and time it Will take place. But, before we take off, we will have to fortify ourselves with God and the SAN of the masses, Femi Falana. If the youth are afraid, should the old too, when the artisans amongst them are sitting doing nothing without light, meanwhile, they are referred as Lazy Youths. We already have paid government agent in the house who seems not know that the masses are paying for No light and others. Waiting for you digitals brains to brainstorm on the way to go. 1 Like |

tensazangetsu20: welĺ that means in the case of Gabon you partially corroborated my point.... Gabon is a smaller country but still struggles because the family and cronies of the ruling present/past presidents view Gabon's commonwealth as their private property. my point is greed!!!! corruption!!!! self centeredness!!! is the bane of the black africa goverments. |

That's all you've been yammering about. To paraphrase you: "Nigerians don't pay high taxes, therefore people heading institutions in the country should 'flex' until the people are ready to pay high taxes" If you cannot allude this as what you've been commenting all along then forgive me for not helping your comprehension skills. From your comments, I can you almost deduce that you do not own or run any legitimate business in Nigeria to talk about taxes and levies and how much more you would like the government to increase them. Is it high taxes that make over 75% of Nigerian annual budget to be recurrent expenditure and the national assembly consuming as much as 30%? How much has Nigeria accrued from oil trade over the years and what exactly is the one sector or public institution thing you can lay a finger on that is efficient? I read earlier you attributed private investment (GSM) to the government. Bloody shame on you! What next, Olamide is successful because of Nigerian government and policies? There is no accountability and you are talking about taxes. Have you asked if all states have been able to pay the N18,000 minimum wage but you want increased taxes, from whom if I may ask? Is it insufficient tax rates, that cause politicians to abscond with money for projects which you clearly think is the main reason the airport has been in that condition since 2012? Or would you pretend not to be aware that all 'white elephant projects' that have been investigated revealed that the contract sums were not only over-inflated but the funds were fully disbursed. I don't know if you are trolling, if so then you got me, but I hope there's just a little bit of conscience left in you and that is what I try to reach, even though you may be feeding fat off these sham projects and government officials' stealing. theoldpretender: |

zinizta:Yes but being diverse is also a major problem. A country that is almost 100 percent homogenous would be able to tackle this corrupt leaders easily but you can't in an extremely diverse nation as they would always play the tribal card. Rwanda is working because it's almost completely homogenous. The hutus and tutsis speak the same language and were just words used to different people in the past based on the wealth they had |
