Is it Science Park that Akwa Ibom needs at this time? Is that what will create jobs for the teeming population of youths who are un-employed in the state. First it was Pencil factory, now it is Science Park. At this rate un-employment will continue to plague this state which collects the highest monthly allocation from the federal government. By the way i am from Akwa Ibom State so i am a stake holder.

Udom is just like those people they call specialists. He's experienced,I hear he'a a banker,an expert. Don't expect anything less. In all the nigert-delta states, delta state is the worst, cursed with bad leaders. They better shine their eyes and votes for a better person.

My fear for Akwa ibom is the High influx of Northerners into the state. This should be a security concern to the Government. Gradually you will have mosques and small Hausa settlements all over the state.

May it not be too late for us to take action as their presence is becoming very obvious.

TELL him to pressurize buhari to start the ibaka deep see port. That port is the deepest seaport in West Africa without dredging.

Akwa Ibom state is the only state experiencing progressive leadership

Please include governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state. He is trying in Rivers state not minding the cult war and the political crisis that existed with the exit of ex-governor Amaechi.

But governors in Delta state, Bayelsa state, are far worst in performances given the huge revenue they receive from the federation account.

You are working so hard promoting a failed government.
Go check for yourself - Akwa Ibom state ranks second in the unemployment index per state in Nigeria.
Akwa Ibom receives the highest allocation from the federal government yet, there is nothing to show for it.
Akpabio claimed that before the state can be industrialized there was need for adequate infrastructure, he spent billions constructing roads and fly-overs and siphoning billions for himself in the process. Now, with the infrastructure in place, Mr. Udom has done nothing to ensure the alledged initial plan is being actualized. Ibom seaport has been abandoned, the independent power plant has become story, even the science park which was originally conceived by Obong Victor Attah is taking decades to come to light. 2019 is by the corner and Udom has basically nothing tangible to show for his 4 years despite receiving over 400billion from the federal government. He keeps signing MOUs to deceive the people. There are no jobs back home and the best they can offer the youth is councilor positions for them to also participate in the corruption galore and feed crumbs to their cult groups and supporters. Mention 10 functioning industries in Akwa Ibom state that can employ up to 300 people each and I will take you for serious. There is a mass exodus of Akwa Ibomites on a daily basis to Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt in search of greener pastures, but their status as a minority group, with the high level of tribalism, nepotism and who-know-who has prevented them from getting good jobs in these areas despite the fact that their state is a major contributor to the country's earnings. All these wouldn't have been if the AKSG is honest about ensuring the prosperity of citizens of that state.

It's a good thing, that is only if Udom is serious. Agro-type businesses are really the way to go, considering demand and the realities of the economy.

Emphasis should be placed on large-scale modern production of crops and value addition through processing. Countries all over are reaping big from high-value crop export.

There's no reason why we should be lagging behind considering the vast farmlands that remain unutilized. Akwa Ibom can feed the country and also sell the excesses to international markets.

As part of an overarching integrated strategy, Udom should also consider expanding the hatchery to increase DOC output. This would earned the state revenue as more DOCs will attract buyers from neighboring states as well as stop Akwa Ibom farmers from buying DOCs from Oyo state which is the case presently.

The tomato greenhouse should also be expanded 20 times in size and scope to include capsicum cultivation, to appropriately meet local demand as well as supply the entire SS and SE markets, and even sell to Dangote's tomato factory which closed recently due to lack of fresh tomatoes in Nigeria.

Large scale fruit tree plantations of mango, papaya, pineapple, banana, apple, citrus, etc. should also be setup across the entire state to serve as raw material for the coconut factory. Imagine the juice products that can come out of this factory. 5Alive juice from Lagos would be child's play, if Udom wants to really DAKADA!

Implement these tweaks and Akwa Ibom can say goodbye to unemployment, poverty, and low IGR. Again, good development for Akwa Ibom!
