A mother of two and her children were left with serious injuries after being allegedly attacked by her boyfriend in Cross River state.

According to reports, the 26-year-old lady identified as Imaobong Friday Brownson, of Okop, Obot Akara LGA, Akwa Ibom State, but resides in Bakassi LGA, Cross River State, was allegedly attacked by her 30-year-old boyfriend, Ubong Michael, last Thurdsday. 

It was reported that boyfriend allegedly attacked the woman and her two kids (aged 3 and 8 years old) with matchet - inflicting life threatening injuries on them. 

According to Iwara U. Iwara, the youngest child reportedly died from the cuts she received after the attack. 

The mother and the surviving daughter are said to be in critical condition at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.
