undecided

The traffic in stolen money seems to move in one direction only - from big blind countries (BBC) like Nigeria to countries like Switzerland that are only too willing to help us abase ourselves.

I am waiting for Swiss politicians to loot their country blind and bring the money for safe keeping in Nigerian banks.

Stupid is forever.

I really don't understand idiots like these, the countries built their economies on slavery, colonization, looting, theft, wars, oppression and pogrom - you are calling them thieves in 2018, when at this stage they don't really care what you call them!

Swiss the same country that colaborated with the Nazis during ww2 to steal even gold teeth from dying jews in concentration camps for hiding in Swiss banks and you think insults will fave them?

Find a way to do the same to them instead of name calling - they don't give a shyte what you call them as long as they get the money!

Add tarrifs on good from Swiss, reduce their investments in Nigeria or apply penalties and fines to their organizations in Nigeria to the tune of the same amounts they steal from you.

Ebullience:
The federal government has accused Switzerland of “robbing” Nigeria in the course of recovering funds looted from the country.

Nigeria recently signed an agreement with Switzerland for the release of $322 million said to have been stolen by Sani Abacha, former military head of state.

This is just one of the previous recoveries made by both current and past administrations of the said loot as well as the others, usually through signed treaties.

But speaking at the second International conference on combating illicit financial Flows (IFF) and enhancing asset recovery for sustainable development in Abuja on Tuesday, Geoffrey Onyema, minister of foreign affairs, said the difficulty in recovering the loot is usually “mind-boggling.”

He said though developed countries have been able to put in measures to help identify their citizens who were transferring loot there, it is usually difficult for countries like Nigeria.

“For developing countries as ourselves, it’s so much more difficult – the kind of hurdles that we have to overcome,” he said.

“Large sums of money have been found in Jersey, for instance, and other countries are laying claim to it, because in getting to Jersey, it passed through different jurisdictions. We haven’t been able to get the money back.

“We got some money back from Switzerland, but my God! When you look at the details, I was shocked and extremely angry at the process of recovery. Percentages were paid out to all kinds of institutions.

“To me, this is daylight robbery that these countries are perpetrating, and of course playing on the fact that we’re not the United States. So, it’s something we keep harping on, that these countries have to do a lot more, because at the end of the day, they are condoning huge theft and are accessories after the fact in fact.”

He added that when a country is “making it difficult” for legitimate owners to recover looted funds, “then you’re just as guilty of theft as those that transferred the money in the first place. This is totally unacceptable and totally immoral.”

Then we should pass death penalty on any treasury theft above 2million naira. That way we deterr our own citizens from looting and block other counteies from getting rich at our disadvantage. Once we make it a death sentence it is these same countries that will cry abuse of human right and we can then show them why we the law is needed....because you are using our citizens and providing undeground channels for them to wreck lives and futures of innocent citizens.

If you dont want us to kill them then enter agreement that makes loot recovery smooth and easy.

The federal government of Nigeria has every right to demand for justice in the full repatriation of funds looted by the Late General Sani Abacha administration.

But I think we should give kudos to all those who made this possible especially the government of Switzerland.

We are complaining here but have we thought about other countries like the United Kingdom ( Britain ) who are giving us pre-condition for sending looted funds to Nigeria.

A PIDGIN ENGLISH PROVERB SAYS "Half Bread is better than none"

Nigeria political leaders should put the country treasury secured from looters to save us from embarrassing situation like this in future.
