Confusion In Aso Rock, As Federal High Court Delivers Powerful Judgement Against President Buhari’s Government. The Abuja division of the Federal High Court, has described the two years detention of Journalist, Jones Abiri, by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, as an outright conviction, and ordered the Federal Government to pay N10 million in damages, to Abiri.

Recall, that Abiri was arrested in August 2016, and detained for two years, until his Lawyers, led by Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana, filed a fundamental human rights suit against the Federal Government.

Following the outcry by various Human Rights Agencies, and the Media, Abiri was arraigned on militancy at a Magistrate Court, in Abuja.

The Judge stated further, that the Federal Government’s submission that Abiri was detained in national security, was baseless.
