Osita Chidoka: There Was No Nollywood When PDP Took Over In 1999 by OgaGist: 9:01pm On Oct 17, 2018
Osita Chidoka, a special adviser to Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says there was no Nollywood when the party took over power in 1999.

Speaking on Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels TV, the former minister of aviation attributed the success of Nigeria’s movie industry to PDP’s reign.

“In the last three years, the APC has maintained a narrative of nothing was done in the last 16 years of the PDP, 16 years of waste,” he said.

“In 16 years, the PDP inherited an economy with foreign reserves of $3.8 billion and handed over $3o billion when it handed over to the APC in 2015.

“The economy was growing at 2%, we left it growing at 6-7%, the economy had 70% poverty rate, we left it at less than 20% poverty rate, the economy had no savings, we left it with an excess crude account.

“There was no telecom industry before PDP took over and it is thriving today, 18 million lines are available. There was no Nollywood industry when PDP took over Nigeria, see where Nollywood has gone to today.

“If all the growth we have seen in Nigeria are matters of fact.”

Chidoka said the PDP lost to Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) because of voters fatigue.

“The voters have a right to be tired of a party, of a brand.”

the fact that we patriotic Nigerians had decided to vote APC out in 2019 did not mean every Tom and Jerry should be spewing trash and playing with our intelligence.

oga, was it PDP that opened nollywood or what exactly is your point?

For those of you quoting me.
Nollywood started in early 90's when PDP was not in existence.

why is that every aboki supporting APC thinks that PDP members are igbos I know sane Muslims who are not supporting pmb and are full blooded Muslims from core north.
lastly am not and will never be an Igbo man. though I don't have problems with them same as I don't have problems with Muslims or .....

Faulty reasoning.

There was no Boko Haram when PDP took over in 1999.

There was no kidnapping when PDP took over power in 1999.

There was no APC when PDP took over power in 1999.

PDP left all of them behind when the third one rightly kicked them out in 2015.

LIKE SERIOUSLY, PDP SHOULD NOT TRY TO THINK WE HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM! IT WAS THE APC'S FAILURE IN THIS THEIR TERM THAT IS FEEDING THEM WITH POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY.

NOW, THEY ARE BUILDING ON IT.

AND WRONGLY, PROPOSING SAINTHOOD!

ARE WE STUPID?

HAD NOT APC FAILED, PDP WOULD HAVE BEEN FOREVER BURIED IN SHAME.

THEY SHOULD PICK THEIR WORDS RIGHTLY AND STOP THE "THINGS WERE OK WITH US UNTIL YOU LEFT US" LINE.

Haba!

All these PDP guys get brain so?

All of us who are concerned for peace and triumph of reason and justice must be keenly aware how small an influence reason and honest good will exert upon events in the political field.

I suspect this guy smokes a mixture of dry shyte with pepper. No nollywood before 1999. Stupid boy. As for the phone lines, is it free? Was it not under the same PDP we were buying sim card for #54,000? Or he's forgotten how we paid Obasanjo #1 for every recharge by adding *1* to recharge pins?

It's really funny when wawa Jews queue up behind this opportunist.

His father-in-law late Ojo Maduekwe who was responsible for his rise said "any Igbo man who thinks of Presidency is crazy" when asslicking OBJ over Alex Ekwueme (he sure has a lot in common with Ojo)

Osita exploited Nnamdi Kanu's popularity to try to contest as Governor.

Same pro-IPOB guy is shamelessly asslicking Atiku

Nollywood contributes huge revenues to Nigeria's coffers.

But one thing, President Buhari who believes that agriculture shall be Nigeria's live wire refuses to be Agriculture Minister, but takes up post of Petroleum Minister.
