Why travel to Uganda with 2 jets in the first place?. When is the 1st lady so important that we dedicate one private jet for her to cart her fat behind around.

Waste of resources if you ask me. Sending two presidential planes to Uganda for a one day event. The amount they spent hanging those planes in Uganda can employ 10 graduates in Nigeria for at least one year.

Nigerians are superstitious, they dont want to die together.

I though Mr Obasanjo bought new jet in 2002. what happened to it?

Nigerian President do not need a jet. Flying first class on Nigeria Airways(which they killed) would have done the job.

Thats not correct:
The 737 has been continuously manufactured by Boeing since 1967 with 6,348 aircraft delivered and 2,061 orders yet to be fulfilled as of March 2010[update].[1] The 737 series is the best selling jet airliner in history

That will be an insult to Nigeria. If our pastors can afford a damn jet, then the country should be able to afford one.

Nope. It is tax payers money.

I know many countries more RICH, VERY RICH compare to Nigeria, yet the President has no JET.

They are not ready to pay that for him.

They dont force you to be President but if you want to be you fly the country's commercial flight first-class.

Here you go:

The air transport of the King and Prime Minister of Norway is mostly handled by commercial airliners
(such as Scandinavian Airlines) with the VIPs travelling as normal passengers.

Malaysia's Prime Minister and the Royal Family travel in a Boeing Business Jet operated by the Royal Malaysian Air Force with the serial number M53-01

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong travels on commercial aircraft operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair, the de facto flag carriers of the territory.
He travels within the territory on helicopters operated by the Government Flying Service.

The Royal Danish Air Force operates three Challenger CL-604 for VIP transport, primarily that of the government and The Danish Royal Family. These airplanes are also used for environmental control and fishery control around Greenland and the North Sea.

And trust African Leaders:
most controversial air transports for a head of state was that of Zaire leader Mobutu Sese Seko, who leased a supersonic Concorde in the late 1980s and early 1990s

Does the British PM have a private jet?
Re: Jonathan Stranded In Uganda by asscend: 4:30pm On Jul 28, 2010
The British Prime Minister is the chief minister. He is not the head of state thats why he does not have a dedicated jet.

The queen is head of state and doesn't have a private jet. We should really be thinking of cutting down on perks our leaders get. Have you heard how many million a senator takes home monthly? It is gross.
Yar Adua travelled to Saudi, because we have no worthy hospitals (the few we have look like unkempt mechanic workshops).

Re: Jonathan Stranded In Uganda by Nobody: 10:46pm On Jul 28, 2010
lol Even the Americans do not allocate a separate jet for the first lady. She flies with the president and the second is used as a backup to avoid mishaps like this. Too bad we have leaders who cant think. Jonathan is no better than yar adua.
