In South Africa we have laws and regulations, you can't just go around performing rituals anywhere without asking for permission from the relevant bodies . This is disrespecting our laws, society rules and peace . No one says Nigerians can't practice their traditions in south Africa, but they can't do it anywhere they like . This is not Nigeria, not even our people do such things anyhow.
Is the South African law against traditional African religion? If not, which of your laws, society rules and peace have they disrespected by their practice

Dude , there are no laws against any African or non African religions but not even us are permitted to go around slaughtering animals anywhere we choose . You do such things in your own backyard or appropriate place not on public roads . So by doing this on a street that everyone uses is disrespect and a disturbance to the residents of that area .

But you permitted Muslim to pray on the road while there is Mosque, when things change others follows

Are they slaughtering? Assembling in public spaces is not illegal in SA.

Sue them to court if you feel disrespected.

That is why they were fckd up by the authorities and sent back to Lagos. It's a lesson for any upcoming ritualists .

Who is the mad person writing this trash,so tell me what is wrong with practicing once religion.abi did you hear traditionalist condemning your money scamming ritual in your church's. You people should respect yourself

dainformant:
An outrage has been sparked after some Nigerians were seen performing some traditional rituals in broad daylight in South Africa.

According to reports, the Nigerians were seen in the North of Johannesburg performing the rites where a live chicken was killed and its blood spilled on a traditional item before it was thrown away.

It was alleged that the traditional rituals were performed in the street ahead of coronation by Ohaneze Ndigbo.

This happened right in public in the presence of other residents and passersby.

Nigerians are calling on the federal government and Ohaneze Ndigbo to find a way to stop the public embarrassment and call the citizens to order on how to practice their tradition without drawing attention to themselves.

You just sound like an emotional retard now grin, I'm sorry to say this. Churches in south Africa operate in their premises not on street corners, there are places meant for rituals and things like that not our street corners .

Actually you are describing yourself.because if you had just a little knowledge of history, you would know that your church is a borrowed religion, visitor those not tell the owner of house how to conduct his affairs,if you are not comfortable with it please move to Rome because even in Israel they would deny you

What don't you get about slaughtering on a public road & the health and environmental risks that come with it? undecided

1. When u slaughter something... it BLEEDS.
2. That blood gushes out onto the tar-road & attracts pests such as flies and rats.
3. Doing this on a continuous basis (where everyone has free reign to be lawless) results in an unhealthy environment leading to outbreaks of diseases.
4. Not to mention the unsightlyness of blood stains on public infrastructure paid for by hardworking taxpayers!

(I guess your lacklustre attitude to cleanliness is the reason your cities look the way they do).

Traditional practices are done in the privacy of one's home/backyard. Not on a public road. Do they not have homes?

Imagine blood splattered all over the streets angry Our cities are governed by by-laws & this is totally unacceptable. That's y theres so much degradation in suburbs they occupy like Hillbrow and Yeoville.

Pls respect other pples things.

you should tell that to them not me.

doing that on the road is bad, i guess basically they did for show off

sound argument, valid too.however it must be matched, preaching in public causes sound pollution which disturbs not only those around but natural balance,it is equally a violation of peoples space and privacy.what is the relevance you may ask,in the spirit of keeping society clean please equally request that preaching in public by christians and also calling for prays by the muslims should be band.

There's ABSOLUTELY NO preaching & praying on the streets in SA. None whatsoever.

Partying, maybe. But most cities require u get a permit for holding events in public spaces. Thereafter u will be handed guidelines on how to conduct yourselves. You'll also be designated time deadlines.
