It sounds like PDP under Atiku is planning IMF strategy. They have already said they want to sell NNPC and they are now complaining about subsidy. If they sell NNPC and ban subsidy then what will happen to the masses?

Edited to change EFCC to NNPC. Apologies to the house.

Whether you plan it or you don't plan it it will happen with the level of borrowing that we now have which is not sustainable especially when you consider what the money is used for

to pay salaries of unproductive workers and politicians..............

Nigeria needs $80 plus oil to SURVIVE

Buhari has no ideas and Atiku is no different

the forest was shrinking, ie(northerners were being massacred and pushed into poverty), but the trees, ie(northern poor and almajiris) keep voting for the axe, ie(buhari), because its handle was made of wood. ie(buhari being a pro sharia law northern muslim). and they thought it was one of them. ie(they thought buhari was there to represent their interest, but he's only coming back to continue killing, impoverishing and confiscating their ancestral inheritance)

The only way to stop subsidies completely is to get our refineries working again or build new ones, or deregulates the downstream sectors 100% and let the masses bear the costs.

Obi and his boss want to remove subsidies and leave Nigerians to pay more for PMS which will lead to more inflation and make life difficult for us.

Buhari and Osinbajo want to keep subsidies for the mean time until private refineries currently under construction come on board, then, we will be able to stop subsidies completely without creating more economic hardship for the people.

Peter Obi is saying many things, playing to the gallery. What is their short-term plans to ensure steady fuel supply to Nigeria while newly licenced refineries come on board and existing one refurbished? He has not said anything to help their campaign.

Obi should be reminded that if refineries were working, we would not be importing refined petroleum products.

For 16yrs, PDP tried aimlessly yet could not repair a single refinery.

We are paying for 16yrs of unrepentant failure by the PDP.

A whole govt wants to keep subsidy until a single man finishes his refineries. That's the most useless idea I have heard in 2019. Dangote should be made the president then.

Can you remind me the promise of this govt prior to 2015? How subsidy was a scam and how body language made our refineries to work just 2 weeks after taking over the govt.

The only way we would attract new investors to build more refinery is by removing subsidy in the first place.

But because that does not win votes, no one wants that idea.

In addition to Dangote refinery, there are modular refineries, at least 2 of them under construction.

There could be more if we removed subsidies completely so that private investors can come and invest in more refineries

It's madness to hang the fate of over 200million people on the private plan of a single man, this govt could pass for the most irresponsible govt in the world.
