Jimi Disu says that he was also accused of supporting Jimi Agbaje when Agbaje was on his show last Sunday and that it's amazing that he is biased in favour of both APC and PDP

Hamzat says that, for example, at the Lekki Toll Gate, everybody is heading towards VI in the morning and traffic is high in that direction. They could make it free to head towards VI in the morning and increase the number of lanes, while those heading towards Lekki will pay tolls.

Jimi Disu asks about Ambode. Hamzat didn't want to talk about Ambode, but Disu insisted.

Hamzat said that the problem was that LAWMA was in charge of waste and they had divided up Lagos amongst the PSP. LAWMA had a lot of trucks and they did so well that they were invited to Sierra Leone to train their refuse collectors.

He said that Vision Scape were brought to act as regulators over LAWMA and he thinks that's a mistake.


Jimi Disu asks if they will continue with Vision Scape. Hamzat said that he needs to read the contract agreement first before he can comment on the issue

Hamzat says that it's a union issue and the president of NURTW has spoken about it that it's a union issue, not a political issue.

Jimi Dissu said that some of the union leaders wore political party caps.

Hamzat says their interaction with the NURTW was because of the BRT project. The NURTW ran the blue line of the BRT and the government took them to Colombia to see how it was run. He said that that was the extent of their interaction with the union.

Hamzat says that the violence is unacceptable and it must stop

A caller says that he is a die hard APC supporter both at the state and federal level, but his problem is with the current governor.

He said that Ambode is not working. He says that it's particularly bad in the area of roads and that the roads in Ikorodu are terrible.

Seems everything in Lagos is about Lekki.V.I. Epe axis....no more plans for badagry,Alimosho, ikorodu etc

Hamzat says that they decentralised the production of asphalt during the Fashola admin (when he was a commissioner) and that they will ensure that these asphalt plants work in order to be able to fix the roads.


Jimi Disu asks why they don't share these ideas with the current governor.

Hamzat says that the current governor is listening.

Jimi Disu insists and Hamzat says that he knows the person currently in charge of works and that he has spoken to him.

Jimi Disu jokes that that means that the man's job is safe.

Hamzat says that no governor can succeed if he doesn't decentralise.


He said that in BRF's exco, that all issues are brought to exco and everything is debated. That everything you do is monitored. He said that BRF hired young graduates to take pictures of projects. Nobody knew who the graduates were. He said that, as commissioner of works, BRF could suddenly ask yoù why street lights are not working on Ikorodu Road and if you insist that it's working, he could show you videos and pictures to prove that it's not working.

naptu2 must be a huge fan of morning digest with uncle Jimi. I was really impressed this morning listening to Hamzat but to do the talks is another thing entirely.

Good to know... I started missing the show since Mr Jimi Disu doesn't come on air everyday. He would not come on the show and wouldn't inform his listeners... Would start listening back soon.

I learnt during Fashola's time, proposals and projects were debated for long hours and even sometimes, they spill over and had to continue the next day (though rare).

This was why Lagos worked under Fashola, and that's why I am supporting Sanwo-olu and Hamzat because they worked under Fashola and understands how governance is like, unlike Ambode who centralised the whole thing that you cant even fix a pothole in a local government without his approval.

Yes, he is far better. Another breed of Fashola but Hamzat himself said he stepped down for Sanwo-olu on religious grounds.
