Angola has adopted a new penal code, dropping the “vices against nature” provision from its colonial era, and decriminalizing homosexuality.

The country’s new law will see people who discriminate against members of the LGBT community be subject to up to 2 years in prison.

Yesterday, Angola became the first country in 2019 to decriminalise gay sex. Making it a well-rounded win, lawmakers also passed a bill that bans discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment. The bill passed with 155 votes in favor, one against and seven abstentions.

The country’s new law will see people who discriminate against members of the LGBT community be subject to up to 2 years in prison.

The country’s old penal code was put in place by its colonizers, Portugal, in 1975, allowing discrimination of LGBT people in terms of education, employment, and even healthcare.

Angola now joins other African countries like South Africa, Lesotho and Seychelles to become places where LGBT people can live without the fear of state-sanctioned discrimination and violence.

As long as it is not legalized in Nigeria. The 14yr penalty should be increased to infinity to deter homosexuals in naija

Bobrisky, Denrele and all their Afonja gay cronies can relocate there ASAP before we catch them.

Tonto Dikeh, Princess Shyngle and all other lesbian sextoys can however, remain here. grin
They are safe.
Anybody that discriminates against bisexual women will be killed even if it is my own mother.

Hilarious. So the colonizers made you criminalize gay sex all those years ago, and now you're bowing to pressure from the West to decriminalize the same gay sex... Looks to me like you never think for yourselves. Always doing like you are told.

Africa is very religious, but don’t have a single positive index to show for it.

Nothing, life, safety, peace, human, security, rights, decency, food, property, etc...nothing.

At least in the Bible, when the Israelites were serving God, they were victorious at war, there was peace, food, prosperity, etc.

Makes one think; we don serve the real God in Africa, we are all hypocrites. BTW in Israel from where we got this religion, there is no gay ban and gays even serve in their military and openly.

It's not about God or religion. Africans are their own worst enemy. We're envious & don't like to see another person prosper. We thwart each other's progress every step of the way & by any means necessary. Personally, I can't share my problems with fellow black people because I know they will offer no real solution other than making some stupid suggestions, like telling me to pray my problems away. Other people have real solutions for real problems & they will often go out of their way to help. But not blacks. They will say something unhelpful & useless, then turn around to go gleefully discuss your issues with somebody else. Still not coming up with anything constructive, except gossip. Two heads being better than one definitely doesn't apply here. Other races help each other out. They don't enjoy seeing one of their own go through trying times the way we do. I saw a job posting at a doctor's office in early December. I thought of someone, so I made some enquiries about it at the reception. This rude c*nt of a receptionist told me that the the position has already been filled. That was a lie! Because I called the number & they were still looking for a person to start at the end of January. This is how black people are. I don't trust them when it comes to things like that because I know they have this weird mentality of not wanting others to do well. It's a shame.

You have identified one of the big problems. Every race looks out for its own not the black man. Niggerians are the same. They will collude with whites, Chinese, Lebanese and Indians to bring down their own. I worked in several international organizations Punky. The level of cooning will make you sick. 2 Niggerians can be working together, let a white man join their team that chemistry is gone. From the moment the white man joins them they will start trying to outdo each other trying to impress the white man, start sabotaging each others effort to look like they are the ones doing the most work. This is is just one small example. Dont get me started on the way they go out of their way to befriend the white man.

Here that's the job of local Indians & Coloureds to do the brown-nosing or spying for the white man. They call them "Deputy Whites" lol. It really is sickening because a white will never do that to another white person. The problem with blacks in South Africa is, they have absolutely no respect for another black person. Say you're in a managerial or supervisory position & you tell them to do something. Hell will break loose! You'll be told you're trying to act white, even though you're simply trying to do your job. They will elso expect you to be more lackadaisical with them. Basically, you cannot exercise your authority & perform your duties without them calling you a "Coconut", which is just another word for a house negro. However, they do as they're told if it's a white person laying down all the rules, then they wonder why some still have a superiority complex undecided Blacks, by rule of thumb, put white people above themselves whether they're aware of this or not. Subservience shows itself in different ways. You don't have to be an outright ass kisser to exhibit the same weak characteristics of someone with a complex.

Coconut... LOL. I heard that term when some Zimbabwean guy described Kofi Anan as a coconut..hehehe.
I agree with you no matter how "woke" a black man professes to be you find out that subservience will show in some way. I dont blame the whoye man either he is merely capitalizing on an opportunity that keeps presenting itself. They believe in always havi g the upper hand and won't mind playing dirty. We are the ones advocating that they relinquish that position to become at a disadvantage. How is that possible? You also need to work to outsmart your oponents. A recent example of this would be with the government shutdown in the US and how normal folks where contributing food and shelter to those affected by the shutdown.

I rarely see this in Africa. Even when there's a massive flood, every man to himself. Even the government won't help you. Even when Boko Haram massacare people in the North, no one comes to their aid in terms of donation of relief materials like food and clothing. It's even the United Nations that come to offer support.

That word means brown on the outside, but white on the inside. They use it on anyone that they cannot relate to, in terms of how someone speaks, how they carry themselves etc. But it's mostly used on people that speak with a "twang". It's just another way of putting a person down for speaking better English than they do. Pathetic.

I agree with your observation. That's the same thing people do here. They have this entitlement over things they don't own & also have these outrageous, almost laughable expectations. Example, they complain that there aren't that many blacks in top positions, in the private sector. So? Create your own businesses, so you can employ candidates of your own choosing in those positions. Finish. Nobody is going to do your bidding in their company. It's their money at stake, so people choose whomever they think is most suitable for the job. Work diligently & you will also make your way up the corporate ladder, instead of wanting everything to be given to you just because. Most successful people today started somewhere. They didn't become CEOs overnight. It takes hardwork & as you so succinctly put it, they had to outsmart someone or beat the odds. Not this rubbish magical thinking some people suffer from.

The truth is a bitter pill to swallow. If they're honest with themselves, they'll at least agree to some of the things I said. I don't expect someone else to see things exactly the same way I do. But I believe I'm not delusional. I can't be the only one noticing a particular pattern in our society as a whole.

I agree. Even here, it's usually white people running charity organizations & NGOs to benefit others. Blacks do nothing for each other. Hell, they don't even tip at restaurants. You'll hardly see them even make donations, although the beneficiaries of most donations are black. There's an Engen garage/petrol station near where I live. Each time I go there to buy something, I make sure to put a few coins inside the donation jars at the till. TBH, I have never seen another black person do the same thing. They just collect their change & walk out. It's mostly whites that I've seen putting money in those jars. It's almost like we expect others to uplift us & do the things that we're supposed to do for ourselves.

It is obvious you have not stepped a foot on America soil.

America’s brand of Christianity is not the type practiced in Nigeria or any where in Africa.

If you have lived in America for a single day, all your preconceived notion of them been the pinnacle of godliness and Christianity will be shocked to it root.

The truth is, if the America brand of Christianity is allowed to be practiced in Nigeria, Nigeria will be a prosperous and mighty Nation in Africa and the world as well.

But, hypocrites like you will condemn the introduction of such type of Christianity in Nigeria, while ignorantly applauding it’s existence in America and elsewhere and even ascribe the prosperity of that country to that brand of Christianity that you have cursed and condemned in Nigeria.

The America Christianity that gives them their prosperity and power index status as you said; give rights to gays, lesbians & transgenders, the very practice that is condemned in the Bible and in Nigeria Christianity and will fetch a serious jail time in Nigeria.

Their Christianity tolerates a serial divorcee, who cheats and commits adultery, he even ‘grab them by their puccy’. Their Christianity tolerates this kind of professing Christian and even supports and voted him in as their President.

America is okay with abortion, it is legal; but the Bible condemns it. The general view is, it is okay and their laws back that view.

The America Christianity, no matter how religious they are does not codify as against their laws any immoral or behavioral act as illegal. It is okay among the Christianity circle there to get a divorce without cause. Adultery and cheating is not a big deal as seem with Nigerian Christianity and the Bible. In some states, it is perfectly legal to smoke marijuana, infact the Doctor will give you a prescription for it and you can walk into the and buy it. The Pastor might even puffy some of his medical marijuana to reduce his chronic pains before mounting the pulpit to deliver his America Christianity Sunday sermon.

I can go on and on with examples, attitudes, dispositions and priorities that clearly shows that, the brand of Christianity practiced in America today is no where found in the Bible and condemned by Jesus himself and will be termed an abomination in Nigeria.

Now, when I say ‘America or America Christianity’ am taking a generalized view based on their laws, government and system of governance.

Off course, there are exceptions to any generalized rule, which in this case mean that, there are many pockets of genuine Christians in America who practice it as in the Bible, but these pockets and their view are not a representation of the whole country.

Now, if you say God’s blessings on America is because of these pockets of genuine worshippers despite the fact that, their view does not drive America governance; my response is...but Nigeria also have pockets of genuine Christians, why are we not enjoying these blessings as well?

How come the prosperous "christain" countries just happen to be the least religious of christendom. Why does the so-called prosperity decline with their adherence to christainity? Even within the U.S.A areas that are more religious, popularly known as the "bible belts" are known to be behind in everything positive.
You're only making a case against christainity.
