Hi guys, am new on this platform and I need advice from you guys My bf and I love each other and we are planning to marry soon but he called me one day and confessed to me that a lady has a son for him back in school days. The lady is married and the boy lives with her together with her new husband and other kids From the way he told me he send money for the boy's school fees through my bf uncle to this lady. My bf doesn't live in the country and he told me there's no way the boy can live with us bcoz of the distance and the child is closer to the mom than the dad(my bf) the only thing is to send money for his fees and that's all bcoz there's no closeness between them and they don't communicate, the boy is 12 yrs now I love my bf alot and I told him not to worry cos I keep asking myself what if I marry another man and the man decide to impregnate a lady outside the marriage is it not worst than this? I don't want to lose my bf but the child is the issue here Plz I need your advice on this *No insult plz* |

I don't see anything going on here. Your bf told you out of courtesy and respect. And he is taking care of the boy means he's a responsible guy. If anything you should encourage him to build a relationship with his son not just sending money. And please don't marry him if you won't be nice to the child... He didn't ask to be born 1 Like |

What exactly is the issue? A man told you the truth, most don’t and keep their children a secret. He looks after his child which is the right thing to do as the child did not ask to be born, his parents opted not to use protection ( that’s another subject matter). You are letting your insecurities get the better of you here and if you are feeling this way about something that happened way before your time, you are not ready for marriage. You could potentially be the type of wife that will make an issue about the young man visiting his father or coming to live with you. Your future children and this boy will be half siblings so you can either get over yourself or walk. He has a past most people do, his past involves a child so your stance should be to learn live with that past or find a man who has no children |
