Carry lawyer for 18500? You must be high besides EFCC won't attend to such poverty case

The lawyer part is just a suggestion. There a lot of places in Nigeria you can obtain other Document less that 2k, place like northern part of the country where greed is minimal

Experienced something similar early this year but with Access bank. my phone was snatched around 6:45am. Went to block my sim that morning by 9ish and the lady at Mtn office asked me some questions to be sure the line was mine. when she asked when was the last time i loaded the phone and the amount. She didnt say anything and was just looking at me in a certain way, even when she asked the last phone the sim was used. it was when i was able to retrieve my line i understood better. they used my sim in another phone cos my phone was password protected.
the first thing the thief did was to try buying airtime from all banks using ussd to know which banks were linked to my sim. then they transfered the money i had with access. they couldnt do that with my other banks maybe because i had activated mobile banking with those accounts so they didnt know the pin. didnt have that with access so i think they activated it and made use of it. all thus was done in less than an hour. first bank they bought airtime but got frustrated i think when they couldnt transfer it to another line.
i went to access bank and they promised to look into it and get back to me. that one i just know say na voicemail straight as i havent heard from them since then.
i think if your phone is stolen, try and block the sim asap if you accounts are linked to it. if the sim is blocked, i doubt if they can do any transactions using it.

. If your pin of your account is not on your phone it may take some hours before your account is accessed so you can still block the account following day immediately by 8 am . But if the phone is not locked and your pin is on your phone it will be accessed immediately. If your phone is missing at night but you still have your ATM go to your Bank and change your ATM pin immediately.. Following morning block your account. A man was robbed by armed robbers who came with POS and collected his ATMs and all his pins.He gave them at gunpoint.Following day he started running to the branches of the concerned banks and was able to block three accounts out of 4..Before he got to the last bank they had withdrawn 150 000 from the account. After much pressure the bank showed the face of the guy who made the withdrawal. For a rest of mind ,it is better to lose a phone during the day than at night. especially if you dont have ATM with you. Please note that if your ATM is missing but your phone is with you you can change your pin immediately on your phone through your mobile app.

Change Atm pin or change mobile transfer pin?

It seems the thief used USSD to transfer the money using your friend's phone number. The thief could have got the password through the messages on the sim receieved from the bank. It could be from a diffrent means though but the bank should be held responsible if they refuse to track the thief.

Election is gone guys but your business and ideas are more inportant to me. Get your website/blog/software today. Check my signature for my contacts.
How is that possible for a thief to get his password or pin?

Good day people , I want to report a case of theft and bad security , my friends phone was stolen in a bus ,take note, this phone was passworded , so he felt SAFE ! , ONLY TO RECEIVE THE SHOCK OF HIS LIFE, his FIRST BANK ACCOUNT HAD BEEN DEBITED , IN LESS THAN 9 HOURS , how could this be , a bank that parades itself as one of the best , be so easily breached ! , That means , the only thing protecting any customers account is their phone and not the bank ! , I was annoyed when he told me this , a certain HARRISON ONYEKACHI IS THE SUSPECT , we went to the bank for help and they told us they can't do anything but block the account , is this fair ? They have refused to help us , FIRST BANK has refused to help us track down the suspect , please moderators , help this reach the front page , many other individuals should know the level of protection that FIRST BANK provides them , I attached a screenshot and a PDF of the fraud .

Were you guys ever able to retrieve this money?

. I pity your friend for the loss of the money..I however blame him for his tardiness to block his account. When your phone is missing or stolen the next step immediately is to go to the nearest branch of the bank to block the account . Some banks even have codes to use on another phone to block the account. DO NOT RELY ON YOUR PHONE password because it will be disabled at the end by thief or his associate. The First bank should not be blamed because the thief has stolen your IDENTITY with your phone in his hand.I It is believed that you are the one operating the account by the bank .If he used your ATM the bank can show his face through their CCTV.Accept my sympathy for this development God will return what you lost to the thief in many folds...

Your friend was careless, not to have reported to the bank once the phone was stolen..#

To use the *894# ussd interface..

You need to know the mobile pin...

It is possible yout friends uses a simple PIN.]

In that case how is it FBN's fault...

Without knowledge of the pin, he couldnt have transferred funds through ussd.

Your friend might have saved his mobile pin on his sim card too, as some careless people do...

Baba please don't say things you don't know with so much confidence. I won't say more than that.
