With the strong showing of the PDP in the recently concluded polls coming after near total anihilation in 2015, it appears the dawn of competitive multiparty polics is finally at hand. What progressive minded folks should now expect from the political class in some form of interparty stability and the gradual demise of cross carpeting. I cannot see the need for any of the leading politicians to change allegiances at any time before the next polls in 2023. They should instead stay within their parties and fight for the ideals they want to project unto the greater polity.

For someone like Saraki in discourse I should not see him returning to the APC after being soundly and roundly beaten in his power base. He should consolidate and offer strong opposition in local Kwara politics for the benefit of the peoples of that state. I am glad he is taking it in good faith so far.

Come to think of it. How can you call a two time governor, a senator and then a senate president (the third highest position in Nigeria) a failure all because he lost his re-election. What other achievement can one who has attained such height hope for if not for the position of a vice president or a President which he boldly tried to contest for.

Even if he is retired from politics now, his achievement cannot be erased no matter what.

I understand clearly why PDP did better in Gubernatorial elections compared to the presidential. APC spent all the money in the bank for the Presidential election.
