Mikel Obi said Mourinho killed him because he got sent off on his first game for the Blues.

I think mourinho did mikel a favour by converting him to DM.
Mikel would have not lasted three seasons in the PL as 10, he doesn't have the speed and the tenacity of the PL team.
Come to think of it, so many players have been converted to their recent positions which they are balling in now.
Apart from drogba, Etoo, which other modern day African player can boast of what mikel achieved with club and country?

You guys should stop blaming Mourinho for how Mikel's footballing career turned out. Mikel lost the confidence to play in Chelsea and maybe he would have been a perfect fit for Westham or Everton and not Chelsea. You think Mikel would have done anything better as a 10 in England? Mikel has no speed, no killer move and you want him to play as 10? Mikel should have left Chelsea after two seasons but he is just like every Nigerian Footballers who don't care about playing time so far the money is coming in.

Was Mikel even exceptional as a Defensive midfielder? Let's call a spade what it is.

However Mikel had a successful career as he won everything a player can win and that's something but the World didn't see the full extent of Mikel's potentials and he is the one responsible.

Haba! He won laurels and spent 11 years in London. If you take away Lionel Messi, Busquets and Aguero (who is yet to win an European and international trophy) . Obi Mikel has done just fine.
