5 clean sheets against Ajax who scored only three goals all competition, and a poor Auxerre and struggling Milan - what an achievement. 

Utd (who played many games without their main defenders) only conceded once throughout the group stages - I guess we can now call their defence is 'one of the best in Europe' despite conceding only two goals less than the supposedly 'rubbish' Arsenal defence in the EPL?
