According to report aired on Aljazeera in a documentary on gun control. 37,000 people were killed in the US by gunshot in the year 2017 alone.

That is more than times 3 what herdsmen and Boko Haram combined has killed in 3years.

Don't mind the morons.

Nigerians traveling to the US should also be wary of indiscriminate shooting, terrorist attacks and gang violence. They should also avoid hurricane prone states like Florida, North Carolina, Alabama etc.

Add Chicago and Milwaukee.

Ignorance is bliss. What you don't know, you simply don't know.

I dare you to drive tonight from Lagos to Abuja and start your trip at 1am. Go alone o. If you are not in Lagos, start from where ever you are to anywhere you want and let me know.

I have been to the USA several times and am here now, i drove 500 miles to Illinois State through Wisconsin at night . Not one policencheck point, not one second did I fear armed robbers

Any data to support this your blatant lie about the US?

[s]

BrainSanitizer:
I know our government is incompetent and lacks any idea on how to safeguard the lives of its citizens. However, the USA is no better when it comes to radical killings. At least we know those killing our people. The government just doesn't have the will to tackle the issue.
In America, everyone is a potential killer! Anytime you leave your home in the US, know that the probability of being shot is 1/2 if not higher. At clubs, school, shopping areas, eateries, airports, train and bus stations, even in your house!
If you are in Nigeria and you don't travel to the North East, your chances of staying alive are over 90℅. Can America say that about America?
I am saddened when these Western countries say these sort of things about Nigeria all because Nigerians we're foolish enough to let bad leadership thrive. Only if we had taken the obvious better decisions!
But hello America, just chill...
It's just a matter of time.
The stolen mandate must be reclaimed and Nigeria will #workagain!

There's no hate here my friend, Nigeria is a killing field meanwhile we are not at war. The killings during Nigerian civil war of 70s is now a joke compare to what is happening now under the Islamic gworo chewing illiterate jihadist called Buhari.

Nigeria is not safe, it is very clear to the world. American government has better intels about Nigeria that the incompetent Nigerian government

What if the perpetrator is a policeman who shot you and still get away with it. Justice done?

You think it’s Nigeria where you just employ any semi illiterate to the police force with no background ??

You keep mentioning policeman, what if I told it’s nearly impossible for him to get away with an unlawful killing.

Is it the identifying or finding him, someone that’s already on the government database.

Nigeria is not safe and there is no justice

You’re a typical Nigerian u love living in denial.

Who said your trip to your neighborhood shop in the US is 100% safe? You may not come back and that is the absolute truth. Just pray as you would in Nigeria for God's protection.

It just amazes me how soooo many of us would proudly support whatever the US says about us. Trump said we are a 'shithole' country... we quickly adapted that description and proudly use it. Nigeria is no longer safe.... but a few years ago... when crime was worst ... and terrorism wayyyy worse... BH bombings everwhere..... BH controlled regions in the North... the same US saw it safe the..... safe enough to hold a world.conference. But now...its not safe.

Then don't go to America...simple! They'd even be happy sef!

They're just warning their citizens that Nigeria is a gangsters paradise and any US citizen planning to visit should reconsider!

America is more gangsters than Nigeria.
The press expose Africa negatively but will continue to put America and Europe as a save haven.
The highest and most notorious mafia are in Italy but America will not label Italy as unsafe because it is a white man country.
UK records the highest teens gang stabbing and you will never hear in any media, but if it were to be in Nigeria, the media would have been used to spread a negative news.

Look up the violent death stats from both cities.

Dont mind them. Let him Google and see how much wahala is caused when police kill civilians (most even involved in one crime or the other).

There is always a trial, most times the policeman is acquitted , but in several cases they are jailed. The cop that killed the black man who was running away because he had a warrant for his arrest is in jail for life now.
Even in cases where the policeman is acquitted which happens a lot; the City ALWAYS pays the victims family. Like Castel in Minneapolis, the police man was acquitted, the city paid his family $3 million.
Re: Reconsider Travelling To Nigeria, US Warns Citizens by MxreR: 11:05am On Apr 13, 2019
America is by far safer and sane because all the crimes are reported and punished while in Nigeria crimes are not reported while the ones reported are corruptly swept aside. Meanwhile the comparison of America and a shithole called Nigeria- security wise is even an insult to Americans.

It gives you a better insight because of access to more information, what you do with such information is what I don't understand. How can anyone say he is more safe in US than Nigeria!
Depending on where you live in the States you are even more likely to be shot than in Nigeria.

Gang members killing themselves. 95% of killings in Chicago and Milwaukee is gang members killing themselves. The rest are usually stray bullets killing innocent people and IN EVERY INCIDENT where an innocent person is killed, the killer is caught within days.
When gang members kill themselves, no one, even the victims family is willing to cooperate with the police, they prefer to take out vengeance.
The problem in Nigeria is too much random killings and no prosecution.

America police are more brutal than Nigeria police. Do you know how many unarmed civilians face harassment in America everyday. An American police man will kill an unarmed civilians just because he taught he has a gun and later found out it was a phone.
