GavelSlam: Its the lack of consequences that has led to what is happening in Nigeria and what is happening in Nigeria is what the US is warning its citizens about. There literally hundreds of armed robbery cases in Nigeria every day and tens of thousands every year. Penalty for armed robbery in Nigeria is death, yet no armed robber has been executed since 1996 except the 4 or so executed a few years ago. In fact, i doubt there has been more than 2 armed robbery trails in the last 1 year. 2 Likes |

babzo: Go to transport co, they are still doing night journeys. What are you daring? My friend took a night journey from that route to destination last week, she repeated it yesterday and she has arrived her destination already. Personally, I don't like night journey but peeps are still doing it. Lag - Benin - East. 1 Like |

Larryndelaw: Do you know how big a county is? Texas State alone is almost the size Nigeria. The State I am in right now is 86,000 sqm. Nigeria is 386, 000 sqm. A county contains dozens to hundreds of cities. There has not been 1 case of gun violence in the city i am in this weekend in over 10 years. 90% of all the gun violence in this State is domiciled within one area in the capital. Of the 23 murders last year in that city, all are being investigated and 18 have been solved. 3 Likes 1 Share |

babzo: Haha go and ask FBI you're praising, they have thousands of cold cases, unresolved murders, kidnappings and disappearance. While I know there's much room for improvement here, it's irritating the way you people act like foreigners are gods do your research, or just watch satellite TV crime & discovery channels. 1 Like |

Ahmed Kadiri (the candidate) recently came out crying about insecurity because her brother was kidnapped. That is the problem with the average black mind. Until the calamity gets to his doorstep before he/she finally wakes up. Who cares about Buhari when citizens are being picked up from their homes and no security personnel has been held responsible, 4 years after, Buhari still hasn't built that world class hospital. The clueless dolt and his family still goes abroad for medical treatment. The joke is on you Guestlander: 1 Like |

How many service chiefs has been held accountable for all the many security failures in Nigeria? Yes Nigeria is the Devils zone where nobody is safe, from ex top military personnel to students. If you think Nigeria is the right country to raise kids then have more faith in Nigeria than the people leading you including but not limited to Buhari annford: 1 Like |

ItzBIM: That is a whole new topic. Gun deaths are not the only cause of death anywhere. The reason why the US warning is hypocritical in because of the prevalence of gun violence is the US as well. Good healthcare system, disease control and several other factors can contribute to lower or higher life expectancy. 2 Likes |

America is no safe haven either... Gun battles, shootings, mad ppl carrying guns around and killing innocent people, hurricanes police brutality on black lives. I didn't know it was this bad as with each release America has to state just how much they despise Nigeria but guess what, they can only do bad publicity with their media and not for much longer, tables are about to be turned! I only blame Nigerians that think the world of such imperialist countries that steal out resources in plain sight... Abeg I no want talk the matter tire me. Dear Nigerians stay back and build your country stop going to sleep in American embassy, there is no gold on the streets there and no its not always greener on the other side emancipate yourselves. 2 Likes |

Guestlander:that's 1 out of 10000 cases. America is not perfect but they value the lives of their citizens and that's why they issued that warning. It's a bitter pill to swallow but a spade must be called a spade. Human lives mean absolutely nothing in my country Nigeria. |

smatt1711: . It's been the case since waaaaay back.. I first saw it on their website in 2008 or 9 . Same as the Canadian, UK's and the websites of almost all other embassies. Most African countries are in their red list due to political instabilities, issue of terrorism, frequent kidnappings for ransome and all bad things. I don't think Nigeria was ever taken off that list - Not sure. Very pathetic to say the least. But the innocent can't stop hustling cos of that . |

pchukwudi: Murder rate in the US is closer to 5 per 100,000. That includes guns, knives, fists, baseball bat, etc. 2/3 of death by gun is suicide. |
