KDF Kismayu Operations Making West Uneasy, AMISOM Component’s Trying Sabotage

Strategic Intelligence News (by David James)

Recent events in Somalia and the latest reports by AMISOM point to a strategic change in the union of the outfit which has shown lackluster until KDF stormed Southern Somalia.

According to Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete, it is only after KDF went to Somalia in October 2011, that the possibility of peace besides Ugandan forces advanced outside Mogadishu were made in Somalia.

KDF Set in motion events that have brought hope to Somalia.

South Somalia’s Juba regions and vast border regions bordering Kenya have been Al-Shabaab military bases, militant training grounds, economic hubs, banks, logistics, armory, besides bomb making and suicide bomber training centers.

KDF has since then destroyed these strategic military assets of the militants cutting them off from their economic lifeline, troops and military supply lines, food, medical, and most importantly their source of revenue.

This stymied Al-Shabaab capacity to reinforce defenses in Mogadishu and other East and Northern regions of Somalia allowing Ethiopia and most notably Ugandan contingent operating in Mogadishu for almost a decade.

This how Uganda forces who only controlled the presidential compound in Mogadishu by blood managed to get a reprieve besides since end of 2011 throughout 2012, made gains outside Mogadishu.

AMISOM Components Sabotage

In Mid 2012, Kenya chief of defense forces General Karangi explained the delay in KDF advance to the last areas under Al-Shabaab command accusing some components of AMISOM as desperate for a piece of Kismayu.

AMISOM has nearly wrecked Kenya defense forces operations in Somalia after KDF was absorbed in the outfit.

Strategic Intelligence confirmed KDF troops in Somalia were not supplied with essentials by AMISOM which is funded by the United States through UN.

To keep KDF in health, Kenyan Generals flew to South Somalia with helicopters-loads of essential supplies besides promising these problems would not manifest again.

General Karangi and General Kasaon responsibly handled the problem with very high level of professionalism. Defense headquarters agreed that the KDF top brass regretted re-hatting into AMISOM.

AMISOM Denounce Ownership of Air and Sea Borne Assets Attacking Kismayu

AMISOM in mid September 2012, directly attacked Kenya defense forces by denying that KDF air-force and naval force were not part of AMISOM assets.

Earlier in September 2012, Ugandan Generals also confirmed that they would not help Kenya Defense Forces operating near Kismayu alleging that KDF did not help them in Mogadishu.

The 3-Ugandan helicopters that crashed in Kenya were bound for Somalia and could have been used in aerial attack operations between Jiliib and Mogadishu and hopefully Kismayu.

KDF has superior and more capable helicopters such as the night hunter Harbin Z9W which locks and fires a rocket at a target 7 kilometers away.

Vital intelligence on tunnels, routes, and secret facilities used by the Al-Shabaab in the South and in Kismayu have been kept away from KDF.

Already, KDF boots are operating outside Kismayu airport and the West of the seaport while a mechanized battalion is surrounding the city just 30 miles outside Kismayu.

Special operations forces from the KDF are launching hit and run operations targeting high value targets such as command centers, bases, and defensive positions in city edges causing mayhem and mass pullout of Al-Shabaab from Kismayu.

Kismayu has fallen to KDF and anytime it will be cleaned and pacified, KDF military intelligence has reiterated.

Impact of Kismayu Fall to KDF

KDF is arguably the only military in the world to manage pacifying Somalia from scratch whereby, they have used equipment and a budget that is way small compared to the West’s mega budgets that end up in loss of life and damage of economies.

KDF winning the urban warfare in Afmadow and Kismayu signals a significant strategic capacity in both leadership of the army and the ability of its soldiers to execute their war strategy expeditiously.

The UN has started warning KDF to prevent loss of lives in Kismayu while AMISOM has started denying KDF air and naval assets to operate under its banner.

More West analysts feel KDF glory in Somalia ridicules the Wests super-armed army, modern technology attack jets and helicopters, laser guided missiles, and hefty budgets that have rather brought down economies and brought more misery to countries like Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan than any good.

Kenya parcified Somalia where the rest have failed.KDF was forced into AMISOM,thats a fact Kenyans wont forget. Before we intervened the AU force only controlled a street in Mogadishu where the puppet president was residing.
